Hotel information
Be blown away by this outstanding Maldives retreat from luxury group Soneva, an indulgent escape on a 5.6-kilometre private lagoon and comprising of five islands.
In this other-worldly setting Soneva Jani in the Maldives is a space sympathetically created to showcase the incredible natural environment in which it is set, while also providing guests with the latest modern conveniences. As with all Soneva properties, expect the craftsmanship of the villas and the services on offer to reflect the location.
Soneva Jani Villas
The Soneva Jani resort villas are spacious and extremely private, beginning with the one-bedroom Water Retreat perfect for couples or those with younger children, up to the four-bedroom Water and Island Reserves created with an extra room that’s ideal for multi-generational travel or groups of friends holidaying together. Features of these dazzling properties include Mr or Ms Friday (Butler) service, bicycles or tricycles to get around the resort, walk-in mini-bars and outdoor decks with seating areas for soaking up the sun and the views.
Eating at Soneva Jani
The dining concepts here are as equally captivating as the accommodation, with highlights being So Cool with its selection of ice cream, handmade chocolate and gourmet cheeses and charcuterie, dining on the beach where the menu only includes ingredients from the island garden or seafood from the lagoon, and the overwater Gathering Bar, a fabulous spot for sundowners. The ‘Cinema Paradiso’ is a classic Soneva experience which should not be missed!
Soneva Jani activities
But of course you can’t truly experience the Maldives until you’ve been on or under the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean, and at Soneva Jani there’s something to suit every guest; from snorkelling with the resident Marine Biologist to diving with professional instructors from Soneva Fushi’s Soleni Dive Centre.
Or you could always take to the ocean on Soneva In Aqua to journey to the Group’s sister property for a twin-island escape.
As with all Soneva properties, expect children to have their imaginations sparked by the fantastic array of activities on offer for them, which includes learning how to protect the lagoon’s resident turtles.
Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
The Soneva Foundation invests in a variety of projects which impact environmental, social and economic issues in a positive way. Marine conservation efforts help protect biodiversity and habitats around Soneva Jani, with partnerships including NGO Save Our Seas and the Olive Ridley Project. An island-wide, insecticide-free mosquito management solution has also been implemented alongside funding for Care for Children – where the resort helped to open a national foster care training and resource centre for vulnerable children. On top of this, Soneva has successfully inculcated several world-leading environmental projects in their 25 years as a trailblazer. Ever since the beginning, the resort has pioneered a business model with sustainability at its very heart.
