Hotel information
The style-conscious will certainly be happy at this resort, whether dining in a treetop bamboo bubble at the magical Terra restaurant or unwinding in the modern Maldivian elegance of your pool villa; every space has been wonderfully well thought through at Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi. That said, the emerald seas and soft sands which surround the entire resort are almost always in sight, and still the main draw, of course.
There’s also a real sense of romance around the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, with a good amount of space between each five-star villa and twelve separate eating and drinking venues to cosy up in, as well as a luscious sea-facing spa, several pools (with complimentary cabana service), gardens and multiple private beaches too. And, if you are travelling to the Maldives as a family, you’re in equally good hands here, as the Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi provides both babysitting services and their Stars Club, which will happily keep kids going throughout the day.
Finally, between Michelin-star meals, spa treatments, cocktails by the pool and sunbathing atop your private deck there are then a handful of activities available at the Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi. Using the well-equipped gym, complimentary bicycles, kayaks and underwater scooters, parasailing or journeying between islands by your luxury yacht is about as strenuous as things get at this tranquil Indian Ocean escape, and it’s all the better for it.
Room Options
All villas at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi come with a private pool and terrace, some being overwater options and others nestled right on the beach. Tall ceilings and walls of glass really help create a sense of space and light, though each is in fact already suitably large and every category enjoys a generous floorplan, no matter which you choose. The décor is a lovely blend of contemporary flurries meeting more traditional elements such as brass sink bowls and exposed beams, while in-room extras come in the form of 65-inch TVs and a sound system, indoor and outdoor showers, air-conditioning, deep-soak bathtubs, a hammock and sun loungers, one king-size or two queen beds and all other essential mod-cons.
Beach Villa with Pool
Available with a king or two-queen setup, the Beach Villa with Pool boasts a 2,518sq ft floorplan, instant beach access and a private outdoor dining pavilion.Grand Beach Villa with Pool
Also coming either with a king-size bed or two queens, the Grand Beach Villa with Pool offers even more space with its sizeable 2,967sq ft floorplan, meaning a larger bathroom, lounge areas and terrace.Overwater Villa with Pool
A 3,045sq ft haven of hammocks, a private infinity pool over the ocean, complete privacy and wonderful sea views.Grand Overwater Villa with Pool
At 3,593sq ft, the Grand Overwater Villa with Pool is among the most spacious of its kind anywhere in the Maldives; a simply stunning space.Reef Villa with Pool

Similar to the other Reef Villas in terms of location, though with a much larger floorplan at 3,423sq ft and for some, enhanced sunset views too.Two or Three-bedroom Overwater Villa with Pool
These huge villas are almost a resort destination in themselves, providing everything you’ll need for a five-star stay without leaving your front door. Floorplans range from 6,714sq ft to 11,976sq ft and include relaxation areas, multiple lounge rooms, terraces and more besides.Two-bedroom Beach Villa with Pool
Similar to its Two-bedroom Overwater Villa equivalent in terms of size and amenities, with the main difference being a beachfront rather than overwater setting.Two-bedroom Reef Villa with Pool
The Two-bedroom Reef Villa also enjoys nearly 6,500sq ft of space, found through the resort’s tropical gardens on the edge of the water, meaning great views from your ample outdoor space.Stella Maris Duplex Villa with Private Pool

With multiple bedrooms, pools, terraces, private gardens and a floorplan of over 11,000sq ft, the Two and Three-bedroom Grand Beach Villa will provide something special if travelling to the Maldives as a family.Ithaafushi Private Island
If looking for ultimate exclusivity or perhaps travelling to the Maldives as a group, book the Ithaafushi Private Island and spread out across two huge villas, as well as enjoying its five swimming pools, private spa and gym, Jacuzzis, club house, children’s pool and playground, yacht moorings and personal concierge services.Facilities/Amenities

Activities & Entertainment
Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi benefits from a beautiful, calm lagoon on its shores which is protected by both the island and resort villas, making it great for sea kayaking and snorkelling, though you can also parasail or explore beneath the waves with an exciting underwater scooter. Bicycles are also available for rent here at the Waldorf Ithaafushi, as well as boat trips around the islands or, why not simply kick back on a lounger to the beat of live DJ music for an easy afternoon in paradise?
Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi have accomplished many things with their approach to sustainability. The resort has reduced carbon emissions by 780 tonnes, planted 74,000 trees and reduced fossil fuels by 330 tonnes. Committed to constantly improving their eco-friendly efforts, and with an aim to increase these figures, Waldorf Astoria aims to preserve the beautiful island it resides on. Additionally, there are conservation initiatives in place to protect the natural reef. There’s an in-house marine biologist who plays a pivotal role in overseeing the coral nurseries. By ensuring they’re in an optimal condition for natural coral reproduction and rehabilitation, these corals find their place back in the surrounding reef.
Celebrations & Big Birthdays
Mark your special occasion in style in the Maldives. Stella Maris Ocean Villa duplexes offer ceilings so high and a space so open, you’ll melt into your deep blue surroundings. Accessible by private boat, the two properties are the crème de la crème of the villa offerings, ideal for celebrations and milestone events.
The resort also has its own private island, Ithaafushi, which features a three-bedroom beach villa, a two-bedroom overwater villa, four-bedroom residence, five pools and a private entertainment clubhouse, plus a dedicated team of chefs and Personal Concierge. For the ultimate celebration, take over the island exclusively to be surrounded by your loved ones.
