New Zealand Holidays are famed for clean, green environments and remarkable scenic beauty that encompass everything from snow-capped mountains to sparkling coastal waters and from sandy beaches to rolling green countryside.

With a rare variety of awe-inspiring natural landscapes, buzzing modern cities and fascinating indigenous culture, it’s no wonder that New Zealand holidays are at the top of so many travellers’ ‘must go’ lists.

Split across two main islands, it is the wealth of contrasting experiences and sights that make this country so attractive to tourists, artists and film makers alike. With so much to see, we recommend a multi-centre itinerary, something our Travel Specialists can tailor to your personal requirements, as well as making a few recommendations of their own, should you wish.

On North Island, where the bulk of New Zealand’s population reside, you will find the cosmopolitan cities of Auckland and Wellington which offer a wealth of culture and cuisine, as well as many unique attractions such as One Tree Hill in Auckland; the perfect spot from which to view the ‘City of Sails’ and its twin harbours. It’s on North Island too, that you’ll discover the riches of Maori culture, with the Maori Experience being a highlight of many visits. Away from the cities, there’s plenty of natural geothermal activity, incredible beaches and some world class scuba diving to enjoy.

South Island is home to most of the dramatic natural scenery many associates with New Zealand. Much less populous than the North, this region is bursting with opportunities to see many species in their natural habitat, including penguins and dolphins. Immerse yourself in one or more of the undulating landscapes on a ‘Great Walk’ such as Milford or Routeburn Tracks. This stunning island is also home to the charming cities of Christchurch, and Queenstown (said to be the adventure capital of New Zealand).

In the summer months of December to February temperatures occasionally reach up to 30° but are more usually a pleasant 20-25°. Late spring and early autumn are also a good time for a touring itinerary, while in the winter months of June to August there's great skiing in the popular South Island.
