Activities & Entertainment
Activities
As you’d expect from a Four Seasons resort, the activity programme at Landaa Giraavaru is dynamic and diverse. The Maldives Cruise is particularly popular – a traditional Maldivian Dhoni takes guests on a half-day snorkelling and picnic excursion.
If you’d like to keep up your fitness regime during your holiday, sign up for the Boot Camp. Enthusiastic fitness instructors will get you jogging on the beach and doing all sorts of exercises – you’ll soon be feeling great. Or, if you’re motivated by the prospect of an exciting mystery prize, take part in a game of beach volleyball with your fellow guests.
The main pool at Landaa Giraavaru is the only Olympic-size pool in the Maldives. Suspended over the lagoon, the 50-metre infinity pool is the perfect place to drink up some sensational views of the Indian Ocean. A smaller seawater pool and a children’s pool are also available, as well as the Blu Pool, a great spot to watch the dreamy sunset.
Kids will love Landaa Giraavaru as well. The KudaVella Club keeps them busy with all sorts of activities – palm tree picnics, hermit crab hunts, lizard safaris, pizza making, tennis lessons and Dhivehi (Maldivian language) practice. Guests between the ages of 13 and 18 are not left out either. The young adults’ centre, MajaaMaizan, is a great place to play pool or table tennis, watch films or play on the PlayStation. And of course there are endless beach activities and watersports to be enjoyed as well.
Entertainment
Dining is a real treat at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru. Guests can sample Arabian specialities at Al Barakat, before enjoying coffee or a shisha pipe at the bar. Italian cuisine can be savoured at Blu, where a gorgeous sunset forms the backdrop to your veal Milanese with Sicilian caponata. The menu at Café Landaa features the finest Asian cuisine, from lunch specialities from the tandoor and curry kitchens to a spot of sushi and teppanyaki – all served in a dramatic setting comprising thatched-roof pavilions and reflecting ponds.
Pop into the Seabar, where you can indulge in frozen margaritas and tapas-style sharing plates. Be sure to keep an eye for the lemon sharks and reef fish swimming in the stunningly clear waters below the bar. The Shisha Bar is ideal for pre-dinner drinks, Turkish coffee or, of course, shisha pipes. And you’ll love the informal sand-floor Blu Bar, where you can treat yourself to a refreshing coconut or tropical cocktail.
Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
With commitments to preserving and regenerating the environment, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru aims to leave a positive, enduring impact on the local community. The buggies you drive throughout the resort are powered by electricity while the drinking water bottling programme eliminates 292,000 plastic bottles annually. Additionally, there’s a food waste reduction programme in place along with four interactive ocean conservation initiatives led by 15 marine biologists: Coral Reefscaping, Turtle Rehabilitation, Manta Ray Research and Fish Breeding. Not only that, but more than 750 young Maldivians have graduated from the resort’s apprenticeship programme – equipping them with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to succeed in the hospitality industry.
