Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
At OZEN Reserve Bolifushi, around 75% of all waste is recycled and the remainder responsibly disposed of while the resort’s water bottling plant eliminates plastic-bottled water from the island. There are many other green practices and policies in practice, such as following hygiene standards to produce the highest quality water and maintaining awareness on preservation of local culture. Marine biologists are present on the island, helping to look after the rich coral reef in the vicinity. Through coral planting and reef cleaning drives, the coral reef system can regrow and flourish. Additionally, colleagues are encouraged to participate in and support green actions where possible.
