Our 10-night Discover Sydney, Rock and Reef holiday takes you to some of Australia’s most popular attractions. Start your Australia holiday in the beautiful and cosmopolitan city of Sydney.
Here you will have plenty of time to explore the city’s trendy neighbourhoods, museums, galleries and attractions at your own pace. To help you orientate yourself we have included a Sydney Harbour cruise plus Bondi Beach and city highlights tour.
Next stop is the ‘Rock’ part of your adventure. Fly to Ayers Rock Resort where you will explore the fascinating rock formations of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) and Uluru (Ayers Rock), as well as enjoying a barbeque sunset dinner.
Then it’s on to the ‘Reef’, staying in Cairns in Tropical North Queensland, spend time at the Outer Barrier Reef where you can swim and snorkel with tropical fish, stingrays and turtles among one of the world’s most magnificent reef systems.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Sydney
You will be transferred from Sydney Airport to your hotel, the remainder of the day is free for you to explore this spectacular harbour city. Wander along the waterfront and through the impressive botanical gardens to the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, or explore the vibrant neighbourhood of Potts Points.
Day 2 Sydney Harbour Cruise and City Sights

You may wish to take an optional tour or hop on a train out west to the Blue Mountains. Katoomba is an attractive mountain town and the jumping-off point to visit the attractions of this area, including Echo Point where you can take in the breathtaking vistas over the valley and the Three Sisters Rock Formations. Alternatively take a ferry to Watsons Bay for a meal at the waterfront Doyle’s Restaurant.
Day 5 Afternoon SEIT Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Day 6 Kata Tjuta (Olgas) Tour
Rise early this morning to journey through the desert landscape to the mighty (Olgas) Kata Tjuta rock formation. On arrival at the viewing area, you walk to the best vantage point to see the 36 domes while watching the sun’s morning glow as the desert comes alive. You will enjoy a gourmet picnic breakfast before visiting Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes.
