Our 10-night Discover Sydney, Rock and Reef holiday takes you to some of Australia’s most popular attractions. Start your Australia holiday in the beautiful and cosmopolitan city of Sydney.

Here you will have plenty of time to explore the city’s trendy neighbourhoods, museums, galleries and attractions at your own pace. To help you orientate yourself we have included a Sydney Harbour cruise plus Bondi Beach and city highlights tour.

Next stop is the ‘Rock’ part of your adventure. Fly to Ayers Rock Resort where you will explore the fascinating rock formations of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) and Uluru (Ayers Rock), as well as enjoying a barbeque sunset dinner.

Then it’s on to the ‘Reef’, staying in Cairns in Tropical North Queensland,  spend time at the Outer Barrier Reef where you can swim and snorkel with tropical fish, stingrays and turtles among one of the world’s most magnificent reef systems.

Itinerary

You will be transferred from Sydney Airport to your hotel, the remainder of the day is free for you to explore this spectacular harbour city. Wander along the waterfront and through the impressive botanical gardens to the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, or explore the vibrant neighbourhood of Potts Points.

Begin your day with a intimate 2 hour morning tea cruise aboard a 52 foot motor yacht. Your personal captain & host will share the rich history of Sydney Harbour and its foreshore as you take in the sites of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House and the bays and coves of Sydney Harbour. Disembark the vessel to explore the “Rocks” and have lunch on your own. After lunch enjoy an unforgettable 3.5 hours Panoramic Sydney tour. Visit Sydney’s trendy districts, superb costal cliff walks and famous Bondi Beach.
A full day free for you to explore more of Sydney’s attractions. The city has a comprehensive public transport system making it an easy city to explore at your own pace. Take a local ferry over to the north shore and spend the day at Manly Beach, or head further north to Palm Beach which is the back drop of soap opera ‘Home & Away.

You may wish to take an optional tour or hop on a train out west to the Blue Mountains. Katoomba is an attractive mountain town and the jumping-off point to visit the attractions of this area, including Echo Point where you can take in the breathtaking vistas over the valley and the Three Sisters Rock Formations. Alternatively take a ferry to Watsons Bay for a meal at the waterfront Doyle’s Restaurant.

Marvel at Uluru's enormity and presence rising from the sand dunes as you enter Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. The closer you get to this spectacular monolith the more you surrender to the realisation of its sheer size. You will spend five hours touring around the base and Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. Your guide will take you to the entrance of Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent watercourse nestled in the contours of Uluru. Stories will be heard of Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (python) and their battle for control of Uluru. Your guide will also share other stories associated with other prominent Tjukurpa (Dreaming) stories. Adjourn to the Talinguru Nyakunytjaku viewing area for an uninterrupted view of Uluru with Kata Tjuta in the background. This evening there are several optional experiences available depending on the season. Please ask your Inspiring Travel Expert for more details.

Rise early this morning to journey through the desert landscape to the mighty (Olgas) Kata Tjuta rock formation. On arrival at the viewing area, you walk to the best vantage point to see the 36 domes while watching the sun’s morning glow as the desert comes alive. You will enjoy a gourmet picnic breakfast before visiting Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes.
