Visit the recreated indigenous village of Te Pa Tu for an evening to immerse yourself in Maori culture. Join the fun-filled celebration and experience a fascinating day-in-the-life of the Maori people, with intriguing stories and delicious seasonal cuisine.
Upon arrival in the leafy forest, you’ll be welcomed by an array of freshly-prepared canapes. Choose from seasonal treats that could include crispy pork and candied apple encased in kawakawa leaves, pickled pikopiko (native fern frond), smoked fish, and other local delicacies.
Then, head over to the forest-formed amphitheatre to hear a series of riveting stories told through dance, song and drama performances, against a backdrop of roaring bonfires and soaring Tawa trees. After this, your hosts will roll out a three-course meal crafted by celebrated Maori chefs. The dishes will be served al fresco in the summer, and in the beautifully designed dining room during the winter.
