This luxury, coast-to-coast journey is a great way to see the highlights of Australia, complete with an epic transcontinental crossing and luxury hotel stays.

The trip connects Western Australia with the iconic sights of Sydney, Melbourne and Hamilton Island in the Whitsunday Islands, the gateway to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. You’ll begin on the far edge of the Indian Ocean in and around Perth, where you can indulge with river cruises and private wine tasting under the sunshine. Visit pockets of paradise including Rottnest Island and the beautiful Margaret River, before boarding the Indian Pacific for your adventure along the world’s longest stretch of straight railway.

For four days and three nights, travel west to east from Perth to Sydney, exploring Australia's outback in style to see plenty of hidden gems. Along the way, you'll explore the old railway ghost town of Cook, enjoy a tasting tour of Adelaide’s Central Markets and marvel at the rugged landscape of the Blue Mountains.

Disembark in Sydney and spend a few days admiring the Opera House and relaxing with a Harbour dinner cruise. In Melbourne, the coastal capital of Victoria, visit trendy neighbourhoods and tour the Yarra valley wine region. Your trip culminates in Hamilton Island, one of the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, where the Great Barrier Reef and breathtaking Whitehaven Beach await.

Itinerary

Meet & Greet at Perth airport on arrival, private transfer to Cape Lodge, nestled in the heart of Margaret River wine region. If you arrive in time for dinner, we recommend dining at the coveted Cape Lodge Restaurant.
Today you will be picked up from Cape Lodge for a six-hour hands-on look at wine appreciation with a focus on organic farming and winemaking. If you prefer, we can arrange alternative experiences like The Private Cellar Experience at Vasse Felix, Margaret River’s founding winery.
Your driver will collect you from Cape Lodge for your private transfer to Perth, where you will be staying at COMO the Treasury; as the name suggests, this luxurious city hotel is housed in the historic Treasury Building.
Explore Perth at your leisure, discover Perth’s new Elizabeth Quay waterfront precinct. If you wish to learn more about Perth and it’s surrounds, take a private guided tour of Perth, King’s Park, Cottesloe beach and Fremantle or cruise along the Swan River, stopping for wine-tasting experiences and lunch along the way.
Staying at   COMO The Treasury
After a delicious breakfast served in the impressive POST Restaurant, housed in the former General Post Office in the State Buildings, you will make your way to Swan River Seaplanes for your flight to the delightful Rottnest Island where you can explore by bike and meet the islands Quokkas.
Staying at   COMO The Treasury
Embark on one of the world’s most incredible rail journey’s, travelling over 2700 miles from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. Settle into your cabin and enjoy lunch as you glide through the Avon Valley. Watch the scenery change as you enjoy a three-course dinner prior to your evening arrival in the wild west gold-mining township of Kalgoorlie.
Awake for the sunrise over the spectacular expanse of the Nullarbor Plain. Be captivated by the big blue skies, the stillness of the desert landscape and broken by mobs of kangaroos bounding across these remote plains. Visit the town of Cook – once a thriving Nullarbor railway community; now a ghost town. Your journey continues along the longest single stretch of railway in the world while you enjoy a mouth-watering dinner.
Upon arriving in Adelaide you have a choice of a walking tour (seasonal), a coach tour of the city sights or a behind-the-scenes tour of Adelaide Oval sporting ground. Take in the Australian countryside as you continue your journey towards the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.
Wake in the picturesque Blue Mountains where you have the choice to alight and enjoy a scenic tour of the area, including Jamison Valley and The Three Sisters at Echo Point before taking a private charter NSW Rail service to Sydney, alternatively remain onboard the Indian Pacific and continue directly to Sydney.
Sydney is best explored on foot; and with all that walking you will work up an appetite. Today explore The Rocks Historic Precinct and Sydney’s newest suburb, Barangaroo on a private Taste of Sydney walking tour, enjoying yummy tastings while taking in the city sights.
Staying at   Capella Sydney
No visit to Sydney is complete without cruising on the famous Sydney Harbour. This afternoon take in the city skyline from the water on a three-hour Captain Cook's Long Lunch Cruise of Sydney Harbour’s highlights. Alternatively upgrade to a private cruise on the sophisticated MV BEL Venetian Motor Cruiser.
Staying at   Capella Sydney

This afternoon your private guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a four-hour city sights tour taking in highlights like Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne’s Laneways and Arcades.
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the city; jump on a tram and visit the trendy neighbourhoods of South Yarra, with its pavement cafes, boutiques, and markets, or take a tour out to the Yarra valley wine region on a wine-tasting gourmet lunch tour.
If the sun is shining, take a tram to St Kilda for a beach day, or for that quintessential Aussie experience, head down to a game of Aussie Rules Football with a local guide, learn more about Australia’s favourite game and enjoy a meat pie and ‘frothy’ (beer).
Leave the city lights and skyscrapers of Melbourne behind and transfer to Mornington Peninsula, a long-time favourite destination for coastal holidays, gourmet dining, farmers markets and vineyard visits. Your driver will drop you at the beautiful Jackalope Hotel, renowned for its dining, art, and spa.
The region isn’t only known for its long sandy beaches but also for its wineries and dining scene. Today transfer to Montalto Estate for a hosted wine tasting and delicious lunch on The Piazza. After lunch return to Jackalope Hotel to enjoy its surroundings or take a tour through the Willow Creek Vineyard.
