Hotel information
Characterised by funky art installations and bold design features, this is a jaw-dropping hideaway, just 45 miles from Melbourne. Throughout the hotel, you will come across intriguing works of art, some of which are globally renowned interactive experiences. Beginning with the large Jackalope sculpture outside the property, here you will be greeted by the work of some of Australia’s leading artists and designers.
A luxe colour palette of black and gold runs through the property, extending to the black infinity pool which is teamed with matching sunbeds and parasols, perfectly juxtaposed against the verdant colours of the vineyard that it overlooks. During summer, indulge in refreshing cocktails and light bites from Geode Pool Bar here, perhaps while sunning yourself under the brilliant blue sky of Victoria. The hotel’s spa is also located in this area and in keeping with what the region is known for, you can even choose a body scrub made from the skins of pinot grapes! Alternatively, why not opt for a rosewater soak in the privacy of your own room, accompanied, of course, by a glass of bubbly?

Uncomplicated modern design allows these spaces to really breathe. Neutral tones throughout with large windows opening onto a terrace and well-equipped bathrooms featuring double vanities, a rain shower and optional Japanese-style tub are standard. Each room also boasts a flat-screen TV, BOSE speakers and Samsung tablet, while Jackalope’s custom-made Hunter LAB toiletries are thoughtful additions.

Flaggerdoot
Located in a 19th century homestead, Flaggerdoot evocatively blends Jackalope’s rich heritage with its signature style, with statement pieces of furniture resting on classic herringbone flooring and thought-provoking pieces of art placed throughout. With a sensational cocktail menu and a wide range of spirits also available, Flaggerdoot will astonish at every turn.
Activities & Entertainment
With countless wineries on your doorstep, it could not be easier to spend a day exploring the locally grown grape, including the vineyard on Jackalope’s premises. Jackalope is also ideally placed for access to the beautiful bays of the Mornington Peninsula. A short 15-minute drive will take you to Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Garden, while towards the coast, Coolart Wetlands and Homestead makes for an interesting afternoon out.
Gourmet Experiences
Set amid vine-laced hills, gourmands can sample glorious tasting menus serving farm-to-table cuisine. Doot Doot Doot is one of Jackalope's two hatted-restaurants and offers innovative menus sourced largely from the peninsula’s farms and waters, such as the Hapukum fish with sea urchin sauce. The restaurant is unique and very stylish, with all-black surroundings lit by Ten Thousand Light Bulbs – an art installation that references wine-making's fermentation bubbles.
Gourmet-lovers can also experience the best of the Peninsula's winemaking scene during a private tour. You’ll meet winemakers, taste wine from the barrel, view private cellars and exclusive art collections, stroll around vineyards, bliss out with a beachside picnic, and collect fresh mussels from a fishing boat.
