Experience a spectacular sunrise over the astounding ruins of Angkor Wat, followed by a day discovering the ruins of other ancient temples. Then visit the colourful, bustling city of Ho Chi Minh, the ancient township of Hoi An and floating islands of Halong Bay, in Vietnam.

Itinerary

Your journey begins in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Set out to discover the sights in a traditional Cyclo. Visit the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the National Museum and Wat Phnom temple, the founding place of the city set on a small hilltop
After breakfast, take a short flight to Siem Reap. This afternoon, start your Angkor temple visits with the ancient city of Angkor Thom – the last capital of the Khmer Empire. From here, continue to Bayon Temple , with its 216 faces carved out of the rock
This morning explore the temples of the Small Circuit by ‘remork’ (Cambodian tuk tuk). Visit the unique Ta Prohm temple, overgrown by jungle trees and vines, and Banteay Kdei, a 12th century Buddhist monastery. Later this afternoon enjoy a tour of the awesome Angkor Wat
A relaxing day involving a short flight from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Afternoon at leisure in Ho Chi Minh
Today enjoy a full day tour of Ho Chi Minh City. Highlights include Chinatown, Ben Thanh Market, the former Presidential Palace and colonial sights
Drive to the delta town of Cai Be. On arrival board a boat to the Cai Be floating market. Watch traders work the river, some of whom have been living on these waters for generations. Visit a cottage factory that makes rice paper and coconut sweets, then cruise on to Dong Hoa Hiep Island, watching daily life take place along the river banks. Lunch will be local Mekong style before your drive back to Ho Chi Minh City
Fly to Danang. On arrival transfer to Hoi An and take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former merchants’ homes, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and colourful market. Rest of the afternoon at leisure
Depart to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Visit the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Then visit Thien Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River
Start your day with a visit to the city’s vibrant Dong Ba Market, before a cyclo ride through the ‘Old City’ to Tinh Tam Lake where the Emperors went to relax. Continue to former emperor Minh Mang’s tomb and Khai Dinh’s Tomb. Take a flight from Hue to Hanoi where you will be staying overnight
After breakfast depart Hanoi and drive to Halong Bay. Arrive at the jetty in Halong City and board your boat. Lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay. In the afternoon, enjoy some activities (depending on the boat’s itinerary) or just relax and absorb the scenery. The boat sets anchor for the night amongst the impressive karst formations. Dinner and overnight onboard
Breakfast is served while you cruise slowly through the magnificent rock formations back to port. Disembark and transfer back to Hanoi. This afternoon enjoy a walking tour of Hanoi’s charming Old Quarter. Finish the day with a Water Puppet show
This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Hanoi, visiting the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda and Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, the picturesque West Lake and the 6th Century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda. The rest of the day is at leisure until your airport transfer for your flight home
