You can expect horseback riding, cowboy cookouts, and a variety of outdoor activities alongside warm hospitality.

What is a resort ranch?

A resort ranch offers all the same in terms of experience as a dude ranch, but with more luxurious accommodations. Alongside horseback riding and outdoor adventures, you might enjoy spa treatments, swimming pools, golf, and gourmet dining.

What is the best time of year to go to a resort or dude ranch?

The primary ranch season typically runs from late spring to early autumn (May–October), when the weather is warm and the trails are open. Winter ranches in certain states, such as Wyoming, may also offer snow-based activities like sleigh rides and cross-country skiing.

What is a working ranch?

A working ranch is an authentic, fully functioning cattle or horse ranch where you can get involved in daily chores. These might include herding cattle, securing livestock, fixing fences, or feeding animals. At Inspiring Travel, we only offer guest and resort ranches for our holiday experiences.

Do I need to be an experienced rider?

No. Most ranches cater to all levels, with trained wranglers matching you to the right horse and pace. Lessons are available, and many activities are suitable for beginners as well as seasoned riders.
