Ranch Information
When is the ranch open and what day does riding begin?
The ranch is open all year round with stays here beginning on any day and lasting for however long you wish, allowing great flexibility. Please note that riding does not take place on Sundays. The ranch is open in the summer months, however rides take place in the early morning and early evening due to the heat at this time.
What are the types of rides on offer and how often will I ride?
Rides vary from slow and scenic rides, in groups of 7-10, through the Saguaro cacti to brisk, fast cantering through the desert and surrounding mountain trails, in groups of 5-8. All day rides are frequent to the nearby Box Canyon and you will see Native American petroglyphs, they cover 20-25 miles and can last up to 8 hours. Shorter half day rides last approximately 3.5 hours. Advanced riders in particular love the team penning hour long sessions where you and three others will enjoy this activity in the large two acre rodeo arena. There is even an adults wine and cheese ride!
About the horses:
White Stallion owns one of the largest private herds of horses in Arizona. The ranch has a 'Horse of the Month' competition, place your vote at the front desk during your stay.
What else can I do at the ranch?
There are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained including a sports court, heated swimming pool and games room. Activities include rock climbing, e-bikes, team penning and team sorting and hiking. Most evenings after dinner there is a moonlit bonfires, astronomy show or line dancing lesson. Hayrides are also available. The Saturday rodeo is a well known favourite with a focus on the tradition of ranching.
Is the ranch suitable for children?
White Stallion encourages families to ride together but children aged five and over can also go on scenic trail rides without mum and dad and must be aged eight and over to go on mountain rides.
What other attractions are there in the area?
Nearby attractions include 13 golf courses, the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, hot air balloon excursions, desert jeep tours, the Saguaro National Park and the Mission San Xavier del Bac.
