Itinerary

Catch your direct flight to San Jose. You will be staying within the capital’s downtown area for the next two nights, in the contemporary Crowne Plaza Corobici hotel. Here, relax and enjoy the amenities, restaurants and have a swim in the pool.
Visit Doka Coffee Plantation to learn about the production of the humble bean and see how the coffee is milled, ground and roasted - not forgetting to sample a few blends! At Poas Volcano witness crystal blue sulphur pools and streaming fumaroles within its enormous crater. At La Paz Waterfall Gardens, 3.5km of walking trails head to bird watching areas, a butterfly observatory, hummingbird garden, frog exhibit and a serpentarium.
Today you will be driven to Arenal. Staying at the family-friendly Arenal Springs Resort & Spa, enjoy the numerous pools this afternoon or visit the hotel’s hot springs surrounding by tropical gardens. The thermal waters are naturally heated by the Arenal Volcano and its underground rivers. Arenal is a family travel playground, and with every attraction from ziplining, hiking and biking, there is something for everyone.
Today enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest as you peacefully paddle down the Peñas Blancas River, which is excellent for animal spotting. Look out for monkeys, sloths, caimans and a variety of bird species. Ideal for children, birders and anyone with a love for nature and wildlife. The afternoon is at leisure.
Head off to Monteverde today, crossing Arenal Lake, taking in the spectacular views of the lake as you go. Spend the next two nights at Trapp Family Lodge. As darkness falls, visit a private reserve to spot nocturnal animals such as snakes, colourful frogs, spiders, bats and moths. At night, the forest really comes alive!
At the Sky Adventure Park, fly through the forest canopy on a zipline; with speeds of up to 40mph and heights over 524-foot, thrill seekers will be in heaven! Glide leisurely through the treetops on a gondola, taking in the views of surrounding volcanoes, the cloud forest and sometimes even the coast. Spot flora and fauna from a network of trails and suspension bridges built high into the forest.
Staying at   Trapp Family Hotel
Manuel Antonio is the final stop, home to a spectacular coast line and one of the most famous National Parks in the country. Si Como No is the perfect place for all the family, surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, with two swimming pools and immense views out over the Pacific. The next few days are at leisure to relax and discover the local area.
These days can be as busy or relaxed as you like. Perhaps visit the nearby Manuel Antonio National Park to spot monkeys, sloths and toucans. Head down to the beach on the hotel’s shuttle.
Staying at   Si Como No
For the more adventurous, waterfall tours, kayaking, boat trips to go caiman spotting and catamaran trips can easily be organised. The hotel runs a private wildlife refuge and its swimming pool has a waterfall slide as well as an adult only pool with jacuzzi.
Staying at   Si Como No
Departing the hotel this morning, you will be driven back to San Jose in time to catch your overnight international flight back to the UK.
