Our 14-night flexible self-drive holiday, Explore Ontario, takes you to the provinces highlights at your own pace. Start and finish your tour in the cosmopolitan city of Toronto where you can see for miles around from the top of the CN Tower. Visit the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake where you can enjoy wine tasting and visit the towns historic sites.

Spend a full day at Niagara Falls and enjoy the many activities on offer including the Hornblower Niagara Cruise, White Water Walk and Journey Behind the Falls. Drive through rural Ontario to farmer market towns such as St. Jacobs and on to Collingwood where you can partake in optional adrenaline pumping activities such as zip lining, Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster or simply enjoy the shopping, dining and spa facilities.

Visit Algonquin Provincial Park and Canada's capital city, Ottawa before heading back to Toronto via the historic town of Kingston and enjoying a cruise around the breathtaking Thousand Islands.

Itinerary

Take a flight from the UK to Toronto, Ontario. On arrival you will transfer to your downtown hotel for your first night. Toronto is one of the world's most ethnically diverse cities, with vibrant markets, shopping areas and restaurants serving cuisines from across the globe. These areas include five Chinatowns, Little Portugal, Little Italy and the Greek community along 'The Danforth'.
Collect your car from the downtown rental depot and enjoy a leisurely drive along the shores of Lake Ontario to Niagara Falls. Along the journey there are plenty of opportunities to stop and visit historical museums, forts, stop at one of the vineyards for some wine-tasting and visit the charming historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Today you have a full day to enjoy Niagara Falls. There are many attractions at and around the falls,we have included a Niagara Falls Adventure Pass which offers you admission to many of the falls most popular attractions while avoiding any long queues and waiting times. Attractions included in the pass are the Hornblower Niagara Cruises, White Water Walk, Journey Behind the Falls and Niagara Fury. For those looking for a little more excitement there are helicopter flights over the falls.

Today you leave Niagara Falls and head west through Grand River country to Kitchener/Waterloo. Located mid-way between Lake Ontario and Lake Huron, this area is rich in tradition and the farm belt of southern Ontario. Stay - Crowne Plaza Kitchener - Waterloo
Kitchener, Ontario
The local village of St. Jacobs is well known for its shopping and Canada's largest year-round farmers market. Each week the market is made up of hundreds of vendor's offering Ontario's finest produce, crafts, ready-to-eat foods and imported goods. St. Jacobs Farmers market is open Thursday and Saturday all year and in the summer months also on Tuesday. Collingwood, Ontario
Head north from Kitchener this morning towards Georgian Bay on Lake Huron. Your destination is the Blue Mountain Resort which is located outside of Collingwood. Today's journey is short so you have many opportunities to explore the towns and villages along the way or enjoy the all the facilities of Blue Mountain Resort. Here you will find shopping, high adrenaline activities such as zip-lining and high ropes, hiking, mountain biking, activities on Mill Pond. Stay - The Westin Trillium House

A full day at your leisure allows you to explore Collingwood or enjoy more of the facilities at Blue Mountain Resort. Your destination today is Huntsville in the magnificent Muskoka Country, home to sparkling lakes and a favourite holiday destination of the people of Southern Ontario. You can head east straight over to Huntsville or follow the shores of Lake Hudson north to Parry Sound as a pleasant diversion.
A popular destination for the people of Ontario to holiday, or weekend breaks in lakeside cottages, Huntsville offers the perfect spot for a relaxing break in your Canada itinerary. Spend time by the lake, hire a canoe to explore further or enjoy a round of golf on one of the many courses in the area. Explore Algonquin Provincial Park, the oldest provincial park in Canada with a unique mixture of forest types including coniferous and deciduous and offers visitors year-round activities.

Continue your journey east, passing through Algonquin Provincial Park and on to your destination of Ottawa, Canada's capital. Ottawa is steeped in unique history and offers a wide range of cultural facilities and many of Canada's best museums.
Spend a full day exploring Canada's capital city, Ottawa. There are many spectacular buildings such as the Parliament Buildings and other historical structures that make this such an attractive city to visit. Take a leisurely cruise along the Rideau Canal, or take a journey on the Hull-Wakefield Steam Train. A great way to explore the city on an optional 2 hour Ottawa Walking Tour taking in By Ward Market, Chateau Laurier, the National War Memorial and Parliament Hill.
Leave Ottawa and head south towards Thousand Islands to your destination of Kingston. Along the drive stop off at the living history museum at Upper Canada Village, located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, this museum gives you an insight to early life in Canada. Kingston is renowned as the fresh-water sailing capital of North America and is the gateway to the beautiful Thousand Islands.
This morning you will embark on a one-hour cruise around the breath-taking Thousand Islands. Cruise through narrow channels and see fifth and sixth generation waterfront family cottages, look out for great blue herons and osprey and see lighthouses throughout this beautiful collection of islands. Take a leisurely stroll around the streets of Kingston with its turn-of-the-century limestone buildings.
Return to Toronto for a day of exploring this vibrant city. Travel to the dizzying heights of the CN Tower for spectacular views and spend time at Toronto's waterfront, one of North America's largest recreational waterfronts. Visit art galleries, the Royal Ontario Museum or the Ontario Science Centre or take an exhilarating helicopter flightseeing tour over the city.

A leisurely morning in Toronto to maybe pick up some last minute shopping before driving back to the airport to drop of your vehicle in time for your homeward or onward flight.
