Learn about the country’s fascinating history in Colombo, on a city walk that explores the Sri Lankan identity and colonial heritage still present here. Then head to Kandy, where you will discover thousands of years of history and explore beautiful sights and the sacred Temple of the Tooth site. Travel to Hatton, home to breath-taking landscapes and the centre of Sri Lanka’s thriving tea trade. Visit a tea plantation and learn all about the amazing process that goes into making your morning cuppa!

Leave Sri Lanka for your well deserved Indian Ocean Beach Holiday in the Maldives. Here you can do as little or as much as you wish, whether that's just lazing in the sunshine with refreshing drinks served poolside, or joining in with island activities such as yoga, snorkelling, diving or sailing trips.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport you will be met by your Inspiring Travel company Travel Representative and transfer to your hotel in Colombo.
Today take part in a personalized city walk, learning about the history and culture of this fascinating city. Learn about the Portuguese, Dutch and English colonial heritage here, and soak in the incredible Sri Lankan culture. These walks usually last between three and four hours, allowing plenty of time for rest stops and of course many fantastic photo opportunities.
Staying at   Maniumpathy
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Kandy (approximately 3 hours). Enjoy some time at leisure exploring Kandy.
Sigiriya
Today, you will have the opportunity to visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth, one of the most important Buddhist shrines. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country.
Staying at   Kandy House
Located southwest of the centre of Kandy in Peradeniya, these magnificent gardens are spread over 147 acres of land that contain over 4,000 different species of flora. Don’t miss the Giant Bamboo, or the Javan fig tree, which is more than a century old. Another highlight is the cannonball tree, so named for its round fruit, and the distinctive double-coconut palm. At the centre of the gardens find a lake shaped like Sri Lanka.
Staying at   Kandy House
Hatton
Today you will be transferred by train from Kandy or Peardeniya to Hatton (approximately 2 hours followed by a 30-60 minute drive depending on the bungalow). Check-in to your Bungalow and spend the rest of the day exploring the area. Hatton is a beautiful town that is very important to the world-renowned Ceylon tea industry. Enjoy the breath-taking hilltop views and sweeping vistas of tea plantations.
Today you will visit a Tea Plantation and Tea Factory. Learn all about the tea-making process and get first-hand experience of how Ceylon tea is produced. Taste fresh tea and enjoy the spectacular views over the tea fields.
Staying at   Ceylon Tea Trails
Hatton
Today is free to explore Hatton at your leisure. Perhaps spend more time exploring the local tea trade, or head to Adam’s Peak – a towering and sacred pilgrimage site. Nearby, find the breath-taking Castlereagh Reservoir and the picturesque Warleigh Church.
Staying at   Ceylon Tea Trails
Travel from Hatton to Minuwangoda (approximately 3 hours). Your accommodation for the night, The Wallawwa is a boutique hotel set in beautifully manicured gardens. Enjoy one of the relaxing treatments on offer at the Z Spa, perfect for unwinding after your tour of the island.
Today you will transfer to the airport for your onward flight to the Maldives. On arrival you will be transferred by boat to your tropical paradise island. This package is based on staying at Baros Island for five nights, however we can tailor-make your holiday and include any of our preferred Maldives resorts for your preferred length of stay.
Take this time to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy the amenities of your Maldivian resort. There are plenty of opportunities to snorkel, dive or take boat tours to deserted coral cays, or you can just lay back and do absolutely nothing.
