Tick the tigers off your bucket list with a visit to two of the best tiger reserves in India, Bandhavgarh in Central India and Ranthambore in Northern India. There's a good chance you'll view tigers here due to the lack of undergrowth and scattered vegetation.
When to go? The best time to visit is from November until mid-June during which time the Tigers are active in the daytime. However, there is a smaller chance that you will spot a tiger at this time because there are many active water sources, whilst in the summer because there are fewer, the Tigers tend to congregate around these specific waterholes. In the winter, we recommend a stay of five nights in the parks.
Since 1972 and the launch of Project Tiger, Ranthambore National Park has been known as a tiger reserve in India, although it was not declared a national park until 1980. In the park see scattered ruins of the fort including the lake palaces and a majestic fort.
