India is full of amazing sights and beautiful places, but the backwaters of Kerala sit proudly atop many a bucket list, and with good reason.

This holiday, inspired by the BBC documentary The Millionaires’ Holiday Club, combines two of Kerala’s best features – luxury hospitality and its iconic houseboats.

All of our holidays are completely tailor-made and will be personalised to you. This is an example itinerary to inspire your next holiday.

Itinerary

Depart the UK today for your flight to Cochin.
Kumarakom
Upon arrival in India, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred by road to the lovely Kumarakom Lake Resort. Superbly located on the scenic banks of Vembanad Lake, the resort’s stylish suites and villas have been constructed from traditional Keralan homesteads dating back to the 16th century.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the resort and spend the next few days relaxing or exploring at your leisure. Our team will be delighted to suggest or arrange activities if you so wish.
Discover the healing powers of the ancient art of Ayurveda. At the resort’s Ayurmana, restorative yoga, Ayurvedic beauty treatments, rejuvenating massages and plenty more are on offer to get you into that holiday spirit.
Today, perhaps take a dip in the resort’s infinity pool, which overlooks the stunning lake. Other activities on offer at Kumarakom include a daily sunset cruise, cultural performances and complimentary tea each evening at the ‘Thattu Kada’.
Take advantage of your lakeside location and get out on the water. As well as the nightly sunset cruise, the resort offers banana boat rides, speedboat excursions and a variety of watersports activities.
Today you’ll set off in your houseboat for a cruise of Kerala’s famous backwaters. Have breakfast at the resort and spend the morning relaxing or fitting in a little more land-based exploration, before departing from the jetty for your adventure.
Spend today leisurely cruising along Kerala’s beautifully winding network of lakes, lagoons and rivers in your traditional kettuvallom (houseboat). This is one of the most serene places in the world, and is incredibly beautiful.
Have a farewell breakfast on the houseboat before disembarking. You will be transferred either to Sochi airport for your onward flight or to your next destination if your adventure in India is continuing.
