Itinerary

Board your flight from the UK to Maun
Today you will transfer from Maun to Savute, a remote corner of the Chobe National Park and check into your first Belmond lodge. The Savute Elephant Camp is the ideal place to start your exploration of Botswana; set within the national park, the lodge is made up of 12 Luxury Tented Rooms with private decks where guests can relax and watch the neighbouring wildlife.
Today you will enjoy an early morning game drive to view some of Africa's largest elephant population. You may also encounter lion, wild dog, leopard, cheetah, hyenas and catch the second largest migration of zebra. On your return, the day is yours to indulge in a spa or simply relax and sit at the lodges viewing deck, watch the elephants splashing around as you overlook the watering hole. Late afternoon you will embark on your next safari for more wildlife opportunities, make sure your camara is at the ready!
Elephants are not surprisingly the main attraction st Savute Elephant Lodge which boasts an exemplary eco-friendly design, luxurious spa and viewing hide. The majestic inhabitants are drawn to the mysterious Savute Channel, which flows and dries up seemingly at whim. Out in the bush, where the rocks rear up among stony hills, is a collection of paintings that will take your breath away. These works by the San Bushmen are thought to be more than 1,500 years old and certainly worth a visit whilst on one of you daily safari activities.
Transfer by light aircraft to your third and final plush Belmond accommodation in Botswana. The Eagle Island Lodge is located on a private island within the Okavango Delta, a desert oasis. The lodge is made up of 12 Deluxe Tented Rooms which each benefit from their own rim flow pool, indoor and outdoor showers and raised decks. The lodge offers outstanding water-based safari activities, including motorboat and mokoro canoe trips.
Eagle Island Lodge is a sustainably designed and built sanctuary that takes you magically close to the Delta's rich wildlife. Drift through the watery- landscape on a makoro canoe, spotting hippos and kingfishers, or fuel your adrenaline with a thrilling helicopter and horseback safari.
Enjoy some of the excellent safari options on offer at the lodge, or simply take advantage of the relaxing surroundings in your own private pool. The delta is a haven for wildlife, and on one of the various safari trips you’ll likely spot a wide range of African mammals, birds and even fish. For an extra special experience, your Travel Specialist can arrange a helicopter safari, which offers sweeping views of the delta and its resident wildlife – a truly unforgettable experience.
There may be time for a final safari experience, before embarking for your next destination South Africa. Transfer from Belmond Eagle Island Lodge to Maun Airport to catch your flight bound for Cape Town. On arrival you will be escorted to the Belmond Mount Nelson on a bed and breakfast bases with a complimentary to a Junior Suite and a VIP status.
Journey through the vibrant city of Cape Town, famous for the bustling V&A Waterfront harbour and its ultra-chic restaurants and bars. Take a cable car to the enchanting realm of Table Mountain for panoramic views over the city or wander through its stunning botanical gardens.
Today, explore the 'Mother City', by a helicopter flight for full views of the majestic Table Mountain, Twelve Apostles Mountain range towards Clifton, Camps Bay and Llandudno, arriving in Hout Bay. Retreat back to the Belmont Mount Nelson for their infamous high teas.
After breakfast travel to South Africa's iconic Winelands with your private expert guide exploring the regions vineyards, sampling world-class wines from local wineries. Tour vineyards and enjoy lunch with in one of the many stunning venues.
After breakfast at the Belmond Mount Nelson you will be collected for your onward flight home.
