This intimate, unique hotel is a ski retreat in its own league, just 150 metres from the ski lifts of Kronplatz mountain, home to 120km of some of Italy’s best runs.
Designed by Matteo Thun, the architecture of this Leading Hotels of the World property makes it a striking landmark in the alpine landscape.
And inside the concept has been to create a sense of place and individuality too, with its fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling windows and wooden floors.
Families are welcome, but the focus is on couples, with romantic nooks and cosy corners - including day beds with a view in all rooms and suites - to enjoy each other’s company around the activities on the slopes.
Whether you’re visiting in winter, there's plenty to experience in the vicinity, with exceptional skiing and snowboarding, or hiking and cycling in the warmer months. While at the hotel there is an indoor climbing wall and heated swimming pools for year-round use.
The spa is central to the Hotel Kronplatz experience, a vast space of relaxation spread over three floors with a rooftop pool, 25m sports pool, outdoor sauna and personalised treatment menu of therapies based around the four mountain elements.
Dining is certain to be a highlight of your stay too, the restaurant’s slow food concept offering local flavours and dishes with influences from famous peaks around the world. Start each morning with breakfast from the offerings at the high-energy, healthy buffet, and end with a gourmet dinner at 7Summit and drinks at On The Rocks mountain bar.

From “active” breakfasts designed to give you energy for a day on the surrounding slopes, to indulgent evening dining paired with exquisite wines (and both rounded off with a treat from the patisserie!); the Falkensteiner Hotel Kronplatz’s culinary offering will be a highlight of your stay.
The menus aim to give you a sense of place, with South Tyrolean cuisine using ingredients and high quality products from local producers and farmers, as well as herbs from the hotel’s garden. The result is the creation of dishes inspired by Europe’s highest peaks, serving you alpine flavours in meals to remember.
7Summit Restaurant
The hotel’s restaurant is really very special, perfectly balancing a sustainable, slow food concept with hearty, yet refined fare that will energize or restore you before or after a day on the ski slopes.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is cosy and light, with views of the mountains from the terrace and windows, as well as nooks to retreat to after dark.
Breakfast is a decadent buffet of fresh pastries, regional meats, a juice bar, cereals, superfoods and freshly-made dishes from the show kitchen. Be sure to try to the hotel’s own bread.
Evening dining is exquisite, with aperitifs and antipasti to warm you up for the main event of South Tyrolean dishes, with specials from guest chefs and desserts from the hotel’s patisserie.

On The Rocks Bar
This superb cosy living room around a fireplace is the perfect drop-in for après ski. Choose from frothy barista-made coffees, cocktails on-the-rocks, mocktails, and nightcaps and a game of chess before bed.
Rooftop Bar
Only open during the summer months, the rooftop bar is a relaxed spot to sit with a cocktail and plate of tasty snacks, whilst soaking up the epic, uninterrupted views of the mountain.

Winter Activities
Skiing and snowboarding are the main draw to the hotel, just 150m from the chair lifts that give you access to Kronplatz’s 120km of ski runs; widely considered South Tyrol’s number one ski area. Suitable for all abilities, the slopes are wide and pristine, with guaranteed snow and excellent provision for cross country skiing, snowboarding and freestyle.
The hotel’s concierge can arrange all manner of wintry activities besides, including snow shoeing and sledding. Or for a special occasion there is the Kronplatz VIP Cable Car.
Spa & Wellness
At the heart of the hotel is its vast spa facility, the Acquapura Summit SPA, covering 1,400m² over three floors.
Here the experience centres on the four mountain elements, with treatments personalised and using products from natural cosmetics line Pharmos Green Luxury and Vitalis Dr Joseph holistic skin care.
Facilities include a rooftop pool with mountain views; a 25m sports pool for length-swimming; a yoga room; a Finnish outdoor sauna; the Summit Hammam; a gym; and eight treatment rooms, as well as a private spa suite with its own lounge.
