At the heart of south-east France’s favoured ski slopes lies Megève ski resort, a chain of lavish, lamp-lit wooden chalets spread across the snow-drenched mountain face. Le Jaillet is the quietest option, whereas Mont d’Arbois is busier, serving as the central portal to the tree-lined slopes above St Gervais with lots of beginner slopes.

Just a 40-minute drive from Megève, this higher-altitude resort is more snow sure, and offers plenty of challenges for advanced skiers, plus a wide range of other slope activities.
