Full accommodation information

Gastronomy and tranquillity are the key reasons to inspire a stay at this luxurious all-villa Tenerife hotel.

Created for adults, Royal River is a quiet Spanish retreat in an exclusive region of the island, with views out to the Atlantic in one direction, and the famed fairways of the Costa Adeje golf course the other.

Riviera-style paths and swaying palms make way for dreamy, blue waterways, with accommodation split across thatched bungalows and marble, Greco villas. Everything has a sense of serenity, from the peaceful private terraces to the oversized day-beds that are scattered amidst the tropical grounds.

Dining is a focus; and with four different destinations for just 50 villas there is plenty of choice. Gorge on Asian and French bistro tasting menus, or freshly-caught Atlantic seafood in the brasserie. A pool brunch on a floating tray at your private villa will make you feel like you’re in Bali. While even a humble sandwich at lunch is given the 5-star treatment.

Inspired by the island, you can relax with a volcanic hot stone massage at the spa; sample Canary Islands’ vintages at a Volcanic Wine Tasting experience; and have honey from Volcano Teide drizzled on your yoghurt at breakfast as live violinists play.

This part of the Atlantic is one of the best places to view marine wildlife. So a boat trip should definitely be on your to-do list, while golfers are spoilt for choice thanks to Tenerife’s best courses on the hotel’s doorstep.

Little wonder the Spanish Association of Tourism Journalists and Writers named Royal River Spain’s Best Hotel in 2022.

As with everything at Royal River, the 50 villas have been designed to offer seclusion and peace, where every element forces you to slow your pace and relax.
Willow screening and lush foliage between each retreat maximise privacy. And all have access to the water, either by being connected to the “river” that runs through the grounds, or with their own private swimming pool.
All have an outdoor terrace with sun beds, complimentary Wifi and a bathroom with freestanding tub and separate shower.

Paradise Villa

Paradise Villa

Sleeps: 7 Adults

This three bedroom, three bathroom villa is an indulgent retreat for a group of friends or family seeking space and privacy on the Island of Eternal Spring. There is a large private pool and terrace overlooking the golf course, and a freestanding open-air bathtub surrounded by banana plants.
Sky Villas

Sky Villas

Sleeps: 8 Adults

There are two Sky Villas at the hotel, both sleeping eight guests in four bedrooms and the only difference being one has mountain views, the other sea views. The ultimate accommodation at Royal River is perfect for marking a special occasion with friends or family thanks to their large terraces with a swimming pool, ideal for entertaining. And there’s ample room inside for each guest to have privacy and space.

At the heart of the Royal River experience is gastronomy. Dishes are creative and imaginative using local and organic produce where possible. Global flavours are matched with wines from Spain and beyond.
Don’t miss the brunch served on a floating tray in your villa’s private pool; the lobster bisque in the French restaurant; tapas with stunning views from The Snack Bar at the Top; and Canarian squid tartar and Iberian dumplings in Kokoro, where Japan meets Tenerife.

Kokoro

Kokoro

This Asian restaurant with a focus on Japanese fare is named after the term for a “connection between heart and soul”. Here the space transports you to the Far East with colourful paper lanterns and fans hanging from the ceiling and a menu designed to surprise. On it are mouth-watering dishes fusing Japanese favourites with local ingredients – like Canarian black pork with ginger and octopus teriyaki.

Flamingo

Flamingo

A French bistro decorated in the bold and colourful style of its namesake, this fun environment has a menu of treats to delight you. French favourites include croissant with truffle, boeuf bourguignon, lobster bisque and cheese to finish, with each dish on the tasting menu matched with a wine to complement it.

The Top

The Top

Certainly this brasserie-style restaurant’s USP is its exceptional views. Set as it is on the roof, the horizon of the Costa Adeje is 360-degrees – making this one of Tenerife’s best restaurants with a sea view. On the menu are hearty favourites like onion soup, spaghetti carbonara and lemon meringue pie for pudding. Be sure to order a side dish of Canarian potatoes with mojo sauce for a local specialty.
At lunchtime light bites and tapas are served as the restaurant becomes The Snack Bar at The Top.

Pineapple

Pineapple

With its muted palette and palm motifs, this trendy restaurant is open for three meals a day. At breakfast this means an extended-hours buffet with tables of fresh fruits, cereals, breads and eggs how you like them. On a Sunday the experience is enhanced by a live violinist who plays as you dine. Lunchtime at Pineapple is all about poke bowls, club sandwiches and Caesar salads served al fresco. Then at dinner there are stir-fries, burgers, pizzas and pasta.

Spa & Wellness

As you’d expect from a hotel that puts so much into guest relaxation, the Serenity Spa is a real haven of tranquillity. Here there is a Jacuzzi, waterfalls and waterbeds, a steam room and ice fountain. Massage and beauty treatments include hot stone massage, facials, manicures and a list of indulgent Rituals; like the Queen of Egypt that uses salts and mud from the Dead Sea, and the Couples Massage which includes a glass of fizz.

Experience Tenerife

If you want to get out and explore this sunny island then there is plenty to tempt you. The hotel can arrange sailing trips on board the Royal Garden for a trip spotting marine wildlife (including potential sightings of whales and dolphins) and anchoring at a beach for a sea swim.
Back on dry land you can take a tour of the island’s volcanoes, and look to the skies to spot birds by day and stars by night; the island has exceptional viewing opportunities for both.
If golf is your thing then there are six clubs to play a round or two within easy reach – the Golf Costa Adeje being the nearest with its ocean and mountain-view fairways.

The Royal River in Tenerife is committed to responsible tourism and takes its sustainability promises seriously, having been built with this as one of its cornerstones.
One such way it demonstrates this is energy consumption, with 100% of that used at the Royal River being renewable thanks to a partnership with Endesa. This avoids the emission of approximately 1.4 tons of CO2 per year.
Other environmental actions include a ban on single-use plastics across the resort; refillable toiletry dispensers in the bathrooms; the planting of more than 100 palm trees and 3,000 plants and trees onsite; and using local produce in the restaurants where possible.
