Hotel information
Found in the walls of Marrakech old city, just a stroll from Jemaâ El Fna Place, is the magnificent Royal Mansour Marrakech – a regal masterpiece sprawling over five lavish hectares that strives to go beyond the demands of today’s discerning traveller, whilst staying true to Moroccan heritage.
Nowhere else in the world will you find the same sense of regal luxury and absolute exclusivity, unsurprising considering that Royal Mansour was hand-crafted by over 1,500 artisans and built with absolutely no expense spared at the behest of Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, who often has his own personal guests stay here. At Royal Mansour Marrakech, you can truly experience what it is like to stay in a royal palace.
This unique resort has no rooms or suites and is the only hotel in the world employing this concept. Instead of conventional hotel accommodation, guest as shown to their very own private residence in the form of a traditional Moroccan riad. There are 53 riads in total ranging from one to four rooms, all coming with private courtyards, plunge pools, fountains, dining rooms and even hammams in the larger riads.
Each incredible riad is lavishly decorated in an authentically Moroccan style featuring geometric tiles and silk rugs. Accommodation is a veritable feast for the eyes with something of interest on every surface and wall – from intricate tadelakt plasterwork to hand painted doorways – the effect is truly magnificent. Bathrooms are equally lavishly appointed, with marble inlaid with granite all around, regal taffeta drapes covering the doors and shower screens etched with elaborate designs completing the effect.
It is the royal standard of service found at Royal Mansour that really sets it apart from other luxury establishments. Each riad is assigned ten dedicated and discreet staff, and there are 500 overall employees working across the resort. However, don’t expect to see many of them. Staff make their way around the hotel through an elaborate system of subterranean tunnels and go about their work in riads while guests are out, ensuring seamless, unrivalled service.
Throughout the resort you will find extraordinary facilities including four restaurants offering incredible gourmet fare creatively dreamed up and meticulously executed by the three Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno. Alongside a spa that sprawls over multiple floors are three bars, a pool, a kids’ club and stunning gardens. The five acres of fragrant gardens were designed by Spanish landscape architect Luis Vallejo and are a delightful place to soak up the idyllic atmosphere during a relaxing stroll.
