During the winter months Canada becomes a wonderland of winter activities including snowshoeing, snow-mobiling, dog-sledding and viewing the aurora borealis.

On this tour you can explore the vibrant west coast city of Vancouver, visiting many of its highlights including the historic district of Gastown, the Totem Poles of Stanley Park and cross Capilano Suspension Bridge. A day tour takes you to the the premier ski resort of Whistler where you can choose to either glide across the snow and through pine forests on a dog-sledding adventure, race through the pristine Callaghan Valley on a snowmobile or fly through the treetops on a series of five ziplines.

Winters in the Yukon provide you with ample adventures, from the sedate to the adrenaline pumping. Soak in outdoor hot tubs watching the northern lights dance across the sky, snowshoe through pristine pine forests or enjoy ice fishing on one of Yukon's beautiful lakes. Your tour will also include one of two experiences - zip through the forests and open fields on the back of a snowmobile or learn to steer a team of dogs and sled along scenic trails in the Yukon wilderness.

Itinerary

Depart the UK on your flight across North America to Vancouver, where on arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Accommodation: Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront Hotel
See the best that Vancouver has to offer on tour of the city and Capilano Bridge. Visit the trendy and historic district of Gastown and Vancouver's lively Chinatown. At Stanley Park you will have time to marvel at the Native Totem Poles before heading to Granville Island Public Market. Take in the views of the Capilano River from high on the Capilano Suspension Bridge before returning to the city for dinner at one of three Vancouver restaurants. Take a scheduled coach transfer to Whistler along the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway. You will have enjoy your winter activity today, zipping through the treetops on a series of ziplines in Whistler today, . Accommodation: Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront Hotel
Transfer to Vancouver Airport for your flight to Whitehorse, Yukon. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your downtown Whitehorse Hotel. The day is free for you to explore the nearby attractions and have dinner before departing at 21:30 for your first Northern Lights viewing experience. You will head out to a cosy, heated cabin or walled tent where you will enjoy hot drinks and snacks in anticipation of experiencing the aurora borealis in the skies above.
A morning tour will take you to visit some of the main attractions of Whitehorse including the historic Main Street train Depot where the White pass and Yukon Route railroad links Whitehorse and Skagway. Other attractions include the Old Log Church Museum and a visit to the Sternwheeler SS Klondike. Transfer to Northern Lights Resort & Spa in the afternoon. In the evening enjoy a 3-course dinner at the resort, after which you are free to enjoy the aurora in the skies above.
After breakfast you will embark on your chosen adventure. Each tour is a duration of seven to eight hours. If you have opted for dog sledding a professional musher will take you through steering and controlling your own sled before spending 4 - 5 hours running your own team of dogs. The snowmobiling tour includes instruction of driving a snow machine before heading out in to the winter landscapes of the Yukon. On your return you will enjoy a 3-course dinner.
The morning is spent at Northern Lights Resort &Spa, where you can relax in the outdoor hot tub or take a half day snowshoeing or ice fishing tour before your transfer to Whitehorse for your last night of Northern Lights viewing.

Transfer from your hotel to Whitehorse Airport for your flight to Vancouver and onward connection to the UK.
