Excellent for history buffs, this tour is led by your private guide and driver who takes you to some of the most historic and culture-rich cities of Morocco. For 11 days, you’ll be travelling from Casablanca to El Jadida and stopping in vibrant cities such as Rabat, Chefchaouen and Fez to admire the awe-inspiring monuments and UNESCO-listed attractions from the Kasbah Oudaya and Chellah to the unmissable ‘blue city’ of Chefchaouen and the world’s oldest university, University of al-Qarawiyyin.

Also home to many archaeological sites, you can see the remnants of Moroccan history throughout this tour. See artefacts that are housed in the many Art Deco’s of the country, and see some of the influences of the Mediterranean and Portugal in the museums along the way.

Throughout, not only will you be dining in some of the most renowned restaurants and cafes of Morocco, you’ll be residing in excellent hotels in the cities. We have arranged for you to stay in the top hotels, including Mazagan Beach Resort, where you can focus on rejuvenating after your journey.

Itinerary

After arriving in Casablanca Airport, your driver and guide will be waiting for you ready to transfer you to Rabat. We recommend you enjoy a delicious lunch at Restaurant Masa, serving delightful Spanish cuisine curated with fresh produce. Afterwards, enjoy exploring the historic Rabat, from visiting the Hassan tower and the Kasbah Oudaya to the Chellah, all perfectly preserved buildings of the past. Spend the night at the Villa Mandarine, a peaceful hideaway nestled amongst an orange grove.
Tangier
After breakfast, you’ll be taken inland to Asilah, sometimes referred to as ‘the pearl of Morocco’. This small port city is home to a historic medina where you’ll find many interesting monuments for you to visit. We recommend you enjoy a meal ay Casa Garcia Asilah Restaurant for a fresh seafood meal before heading to your hotel, Hilton Tangier Al Houara Resort & Spa. Taste the flavours of the Mediterranean at NONO Sea Taste, perfect for a relaxing meal in soft lighting.
Spend the entire day exploring the beauty, culture and rich history of Tangier. Begin in Kasbah, a picturesque old city of long, narrow paths between buildings. Be sure to visit the Kasbah Museum, once known as “Dar el Makhzen,”, where you’ll find an archaeological collection of artifacts found in the north of Morocco. Refuel at the El Morocco Club Restaurant, and end the day with a sumptuous meal at O Saveur Restaurant.
This morning, you’ll be transferred to the picturesque, ‘blue city’, Chefchaouen. Walk through the maze of blue streets and immerse in the lively buzz of the traditional souk before heading into the centre of town where you’ll see the beautiful natural scenery of stunning waterfalls plus more blue buildings. Spend the night at the luxurious Dar Jasmine Chefchaouen.
Fez
Today, you’ll experience the special atmosphere of Fez. Once you’ve been transferred there, you’ll be immersed in the rich history of the imperial city that is home to well-preserved walls that frame the famous medina of Fez, also known for being UNESCO-listed. You’ll be welcomed to Fez with an Orientation Tour of Medina of Fez. Later, you’ll head to the Hotel Sahrai, where you’ll enjoy the unique architecture of Christophe Pilley and exquisite views of the city.
Spend another full day in the heart of Fez, exploring the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), known for goldsmithing. Continue through the Jnane Sbil Gardens to the Blue Gates of the old city, known as Bab Bou Jeloud. Be sure you visit the University of al-Qarawiyyin, known for being the oldest education institution that is still operating. After witnessing what this city has to offer, enjoy a delicious lunch at Restaurant Nejjarine Fes and dinner at MB Restaurant Fez.
Venture from Fez for the day to explore Volubilis. Here, you’ll witness the remnants of the province of UNESCO-listed Mauritania that overlooks the plains of the Meknes region close to the foot of Mt. Zerhoun. After exploring, drive to Meknes, home to picturesque granaries and stables and the Dar Jamaï Museum.
Casablanca
Head inland to Casablanca where you’ll find historic monuments that date back to the Roman settlement of Anfa. This historic city is perfect for history lovers. Enjoy a delicious lunch to refuel at Ricks Café before you visit the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque, the second largest Mosque in Islam today. Then, walk along the picturesque promenade which is Corniche of Casablanca while the sun still shines.
From Casablanca, you’ll head to El Jadida, formerly known as Mazagan. Built by the Portuguese, this city faces the ocean and has a many archaeological treasures that are a fascinating blend of Moroccan and European cultures, earning it a titled of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is where you’ll begin your day before heading into El Jadida’s markets to get to experience the local life and buy some Moroccan goods.
Enjoy a day to enjoy the superb facilities at your hotel, Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort. Boasting 13 restaurants and bars, a golf course, spa and many activities to enjoy, you’ll find plenty to do during your time there. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner and stay in luxury for another night.
Today, you’ll be taken back to the airport ready for your flight back to the UK.
