Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Mandalay
Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and driver. Then continue south of the city to Ava where a short ferry ride will take you across the river to where a horse and carriage is waiting. Visit the old wooden Bagaya Monastery and the remains of the Royal Palace and Fort. Stop for lunch in Ava.Return toward the city and stop at Amarapura. Visit a silk weaving workshop, continue to U Bein Bridge for a walk along this 200 year-old teak bridge. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 2 Explore Mandalay
After breakfast your guide will pick you up at the hotel for a walking tour. Afterwards we will visit the market, discovering white, yellow and green jade. Continue to Mahamuni Pagoda. Mandalay is well known for its skilled craftsmen and you will next tour traditional workshops. Next visit to Kuthodaw Pagoda and walk onwards to Shwenandaw Monastery. Head to the top of Mandalay Hill as the sun begins to set to enjoy magnificent views of the city and Irrawaddy River. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 3 Mandalay - Heho - Inle Lake
After breakfast, transfer to Mandalay Airport for a flight to Heho where a drive leads to Nyaung Shwe. Stop at the wooden Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery. Continue by local trishaw down to the canal. Make a stop at the ‘tomato house’, then continue past some of the many monasteries and nunneries in the town. Board a private motorboat to head out to Inle Lake. Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake’s main sanctuary. Then return to land for your overnight stay. Overnight in Nyaung Shwe.
Day 4 Inle Lake
After breakfast, visit the lake’s morning market. Continue down a small canal leading to the Pa-oh village of In Dein. Explore the area on foot and wander through the beautiful Alaung Sitthou area. Here you can climb the covered stairway to the top of a hill which is covered with picturesque ancient stupas. After enjoying your visit to In Dein, return to your boat. Continue along the lake for additional sightseeing before returning to your hotel this afternoon. Overnight in Nyaung Shwe.
Day 5 Inle Lake - Heho - Bagan
This morning is at your leisure to further explore Nyaung Shwe. Should you wish to book a boat for the morning it can be arrange for a surcharge. OPTION: Biking and Wine Tasting- Bike from Nyaung Shwe to Red Mountain Estate, a winery tucked in the Shan Hills. Return by bike to your hotel or meet your car for the airport transfer. (Maximum 10 persons) After lunch transfer to Heho Airport for the flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, you will be transferred you to your hotel. Overnight in Bagan
Day 6 Explore Bagan
Today, your journey begins with a visit to an elevated temple and the colorful Nyaung Oo Market. After go to the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda and to nearby Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi. Visit a traditional lacquer ware workshop, continue to Ananda Temple. Next board a private river boat and set off upriver toward Kyauk Gu U Min. You’ll stop at Sae Lan village and go ashore for a short walk. Continue by boat to Kyauk Gu U Min. After return to the boat for a relaxing cruise back to Bagan.
Day 7 Bagan - Yangon - Departure
After breakfast this morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, venture downtown to explore the city centre. Start at the historic post office and walk to Sule Paya, passing by Strand Hotel, Mahabandoola Garden and Independence Monument. Then visit Little India and Chinatown, reach Bogyoke Market. Continue to Shwedagon Pagoda the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar. Enjoy breathtaking views of the golden stupa. Return to the airport for your flight.
