Itinerary

Start your journey in Siem Reap: the base for exploring the temples of Angkor. Today you will visit the famous Angkor Wat: built in the early 12th century. Inside the temple, the walls are covered with stone carvings and bas-reliefs. During sunset time, Angkor Wat is less visited, and the Apsaras shine in the most beautiful light. Overnight in Siem Reap.
After breakfast, visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom. From here, continue to Bayon Temple, the atmospheric Ta Prohm temple and Banteay Kdei, a Buddhist monastery. This afternoon, embark on a boat trip on the Tonlé Sap Lake, South East Asia’s largest freshwater lake, and learn about life on the lake, passing houses on stilts that are submerged when Tonlé Sap Lake extends. (NOTE: the boat trip is only possible from June to March). Overnight in Siem Reap (B).
This morning is free until your flight to Yangon, Myanmar. On arrival in Yangon connect onto a flight to Bagan. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Bagan (B).
Enjoy a full day exploration of Bagan. Highlights include Thagyar Pone Temple and Ananda Temple. Visit workshops that produce lacquer ware and wood crafts. This afternoon board a river boat and set off up the Irrawaddy River: absorb scenes of local life: fishermen, riverside villages and views of the Bagan temples. Your destination is Kyauk Gu U Min – a beautiful temple with exquisite stone carvings depicting religious figures. Cruise back to Bagan. Overnight in Bagan (B).
Take a morning flight to Heho. On arrival drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway to Inle Lake, where you board a private motorboat and head out to Inle Lake, one of Myanmar’s most spectacular sights. Pass villages built on stilts over the lake, inhabited by the local Intha people. Observe the leg-rowing fishermen and see their floating gardens, explore the local crafts of Inle Lake with a stop at a weaving village and cheroot factory. Overnight on Inle Lake (B).
After breakfast take a flight to Yangon. This afternoon set off on a sightseeing tour. Visit Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, home to a 70-metre long reclining Buddha. Take tea at Modern Tea Shop and experience an integral part of Burmese life: drinking tea! Continue to Shwedagon Pagoda the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar. Enjoy breathtaking views of the golden stupa from this vantage point. Overnight in Yangon (B)

Depending on flight time, there is an option to take a ride on Yangon’s local Circle Train this morning. Also visit Bogyoke Market, where you can browse the selection of Myanmar handicrafts and other goods before transferring to Yangon airport for your onward flight.
