Hotel information
This rustic yet elegant chalet-style lodge is family-run, and superbly located in the mountains of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The hotel strongly prides itself on its history and sustainability, boasting the coveted award for five levels of sustainability.
Hotel Belmar’s 25 rooms offer views of the Nicoya Gulf or the surrounding cloud forest. All have modern amenities and feature hard-wood fittings, native artwork, soft lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows. Private balconies are the perfect place to take in the panoramic views.
After a busy day getting to know the cloud forest, come back and relax with a soak in the hotel’s jacuzzi. The hotel also boasts a spa, juice bar, tea room and offers yoga classes. The restaurant serves delicious meals, including “from farm to table” dishes inspired by Costa Rican cuisine; some of the fresh ingredients used are grown in the hotel’s own organic gardens. The restaurant features balconies overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and there is also an inviting lounge bar and microbrewery on site.
Hotel Belmar can be reached by road from a variety of destinations as part of a multi-destination tour of Costa Rica, or directly by road from San Jose, the capital.
