Hotel information
Proudly housed in one of New York’s first skyscrapers, The Beekman certainly shows off its 19th-century heritage through its stunningly restored architecture, featuring a nine-story atrium topped with a pyramidal skylight, evocative wrought iron balustrades and original tin ceilings.
Though that is only the start of the story.
This uniquely adorned Lower Manhattan hotel feels every bit like a one-off hideaway. Within the building’s original architecture and layout, you have nods towards its past, vintage furnishings and nostalgic curated artworks adorn the walls, before uncovering modern amenities, fine dining cuisine by James Beard award-winners, Lefs Clefs d’Or concierge services and everything else you would expect from a 21st-century luxury New York property.
The Beekman’s location is also key: situated near Brooklyn Bridge, One World Trade Centre, Wall Street and all the highlights of Lower Manhattan, with access to Hudson River waterfront too.
So it’s hard to find a better hotel for your luxury New York holiday. while back inside the property you are also treated to four equally enticing restaurants and bars, each of which is so brilliantly designed and decorated, they are an entire venue in themselves.
This is fine dining in absolute style, from the copper air vents, red leather armchairs and retro brass-gilded chandeliers of Temple Court, to the quite magnificent underground hideaway that is The Alley Cat; once a century-old mechanical room, now one of the most memorable cocktail lounges in New York City.
Guestrooms and suites at The Beekman are spacious, well equipped and supremely comfortable in every way. And, with a split-level gym, great concierge team and complimentary use of the hotel’s 6-seater luxury car, the top-end facilities are all on offer here too.
Room Options
The Beekman is home to some of the most stylish hotel rooms in New York, which is no small claim in a city with more than a few fantastic boutique properties. The beauty of these spaces is that, although nowhere near as elaborate as some of the design features found elsewhere around the property, each is still a heady mix of bold styles that you just can’t find in other luxury New York hotels. Here, Asian-inspired ornaments meet vintage furniture, bespoke artworks punctuate the walls of every abode and the bathroom, once you enter through your wooden door on antique rollers, is a modern fusion of chrome, glass, a walk-in rain shower and designer toiletries. The Beekman’s suites then step things up in terms of their size and extras that can fit in accordingly – plus complimentary cocktails, breakfast and table booking at The Bar Room – though all rooms have the same artistic ambience, top-end cocktail minibar, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, Bluetooth speakers, king-size beds (in all but two categories) and plenty more besides.

Augustine
It may look a little more relaxed, thanks to its 19th century European country house décor, but the haute French cuisine served in this Keith McNally restaurant is anything but laidback; sublime.

Alley Cat
For a light dinner or a nightcap visit Alley Cat Amateur Theatre, where Tokyo’s secret bar meets classic American cocktail club. Japanese-inspired bites and a selection of craft sake and Japanese whiskies too!
The Bar Room
Far more than your average bar, The Beekman’s Bar Room is a supremely atmospheric space kitted-out like a Victorian drawing room with its book cabinets and velvet armchairs on one hand, though 1950s speakeasy stylings on the other.
