Perhaps unsurprisingly, every room option, category, view and layout at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai has its own particular perks and points of note, all being individual in their own right though with the kind of typically high-end features you’d expect from a Four Seasons property. The décor, no matter which you choose, fuses subtle touches of the Orient, such as the slatted patio doors and bamboo headboards framed by soft drapes, with beach-chic furnishings and locally-inspired touches, artworks and ornaments throughout.

It works wonderfully well, plus all rooms come with a terrace or patio; full or partial ocean views; luxe walk-in rain showers; an espresso machine and water filters; one king-size or two double beds; Bose Bluetooth speakers and plenty more mod-cons. Some of the larger suites and villas also offer private pools and seafront Jacuzzis, huge outdoor spaces and separate living rooms – great for honeymooners and families.

The Prime Ocean and Ocean View Deluxe Rooms are similar to their Oceanfront equivalent in size and layout, at 635sq ft, though are located closer to the shoreline for even better views. Partial and Full Ocean-view Rooms

The Partial and Full Ocean-view Rooms are typically found on ground level, and either look out to sea or the water can be seen through the hotel’s gardens. Superior Suite

The Superior Suite category comes with partial and full oceanfront views, as well as some that overlook the golf course or pool and gardens, while others find themselves right on the shoreline. The floorplan is considerably bigger than their guestroom equivalents at 1,050sq ft and includes a separate living and dining area, lots of outdoor space, walk-in rain shower, a furnished terrace, king-size bed and plentiful mod-cons. Deluxe Suite

Deluxe Suites boast a sizeable floorplan of 1,441sq ft, as well as partial or full oceanfront views and a few that are stationed even closer to the shoreline. In each, you’ll find a huge outdoor terrace and al fresco dining area, living room, powder room, steam shower and a deep-soak tub plus plenty else in this exquisite suite. Anela ‘Kai Suite

Similar in size to the Superior Suite at 1,050sq ft, the Anela ‘Kai Suite takes things up a notch with its private gardens, plunge pool, sun patio, beautifully adorned bathroom and a prime position on the seafront with immediate beach access, as well as all other Four Seasons extras.

Ohana Suite

With partial ocean or pool views, the 1,441sq ft Ohana Suite is a good choice if travelling with children thanks to its ground floor location, meaning easy access to the resort facilities and gardens that open out beyond your private patio. Wai ‘Olu and Milo Suites

Kailani and Kou Suites

At 2,600sq ft, these huge suites are among the best there are, found right on the beach – which can be admired from an expansive furnished terrace or within your living room. You are certainly not going to be short of either outdoor activities or fun things to keep you entertained while staying at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai as, although the secluded spa and wellness centre, lush gardens and sun patios surrounding each of seven pools suggest outright relaxation, there’s so much more to explore. Watersports and boat trips are popular here, as are island-hopping tours either on the water or in a helicopter, Four Seasons’ marvellous Cultural Centre also makes for an interesting afternoon and the onsite championship golf course is as scenic as they get. Little ones will revel in the huge list of fun activities and games, clubs and family-friendly pools to enjoy, while grown-ups then have all manner of classes, personal training, golf tutorials, instant beach access and of course the spa to happily fill their time.
