Hotel information
The Eliza Jane is a Hyatt Unbound Collection hotel that successfully marries the authentic heritage of 19th-century New Orleans with the Hyatt’s first-class services.
The building is made up of various warehouses, some of which were once used for the Peychaud's Bitters Factory, as well as the printing quarters for The Daily Picayune newspaper. The hotel is, in fact, named after Eliza Jane Nicholson, who was the first female publisher of the newspaper.
This sense of heritage is woven into the hotel today, with industrial elements such as exposed brickwork hinting at the property’s past. The design also incorporates mid-century styles, with a fabulous mix of lounge spaces and courtyards that invite you to stop and linger awhile. Rooms at The Eliza Jane are just as stylish, with brass taps in the bathrooms and that exposed brickwork in the bedrooms.
This boutique New Orleans hotel is also home to a chic bar and French brasserie, which feels very in tune with the overall theme and elegant environment at The Eliza Jane. Meanwhile, all the attractions of New Orleans’ French Quarter are within walking distance, so you are well-placed while staying at The Eliza Jane.
Room Options
There’s a range of guestrooms and suites to choose from at The Eliza Jane, though all are tastefully decorated with mid-century design touches and exposed brickwork. As standard, all accommodation options feature a large flat-screen TV, air conditioning, C.O. Bigelow toiletries, Keurig coffee makers, mini fridges, bathrobes and slippers. However, upgrade to a suite and you’ll be treated to extra luxe robes and slippers, lavender salts, and more space to relax in.

Activities & Entertainment
The Eliza Jane is all about chic mid-century design and superlative service, rather than five-star facilities. However, there is a small gym onsite which is open 24 hours a day, and friendly staff can point you in the direction of anything else you may require.
The hotel is also suitably placed to relish the unique delights of New Orleans. Encounter centuries of history and intriguing spots to explore in the French Quarter (just two blocks away), including art galleries, restaurants, bars and more. Witness architectural wonders such as Jackson Square, home to St Louis Cathedral, the Cabildo – a former government building and museum, plus beautiful Pontalba edifices dating back to the mid-1800s. Pop into museums such as Presbytere, showcasing the history of the Mardi Gras festival, and be sure to take a stroll down streets like Frenchmen, Bourbon and Pirates Alley, to soak up the addictive charm of New Orleans’ French Quarter.
