Room Options
The Palace Hotel, San Francisco, is known – and loved – for its eclectic mix of luxury hotel rooms and suites. Many enjoy trademark 19th century high ceilings as well as oversized windows, a fireplace in some and original features in others, though the décor is in fact decidedly modern throughout. Entry-level rooms can feel a little on the cosy side but still make great use of all available space, so happily fit in a king-size bed, walk-in rain shower (within their plush marble bathrooms), and other standards extras such as thick robes and slippers, a minibar, air-conditioning and flat-screen TV. Larger suites then feature a separate lounge, while throughout the categories you have a mix of views, either partially of the street, adjacent buildings or city skyline in the superior options.
Superior Room
These comfortable, modern 300sq ft rooms can happily accommodate one king-size or two double beds, as well as all other Palace amenities. You do get a lot of light through those large windows, but views can be a little limited.
Deluxe Room
Slightly larger at 330sq ft, these Deluxe Rooms are a great option that include all Palace extras and a better chance of street views too.
Grand Deluxe Room
Grand Deluxe Rooms are more spacious at 360sq ft, though the Palace Premier option is generally a cosier 300sq ft. Those with king-size beds often afford city and street views, while rooms with two doubles are more limited.
Superior Suite
These suites encompass 430 to 500sq ft which includes a bedroom with king-size bed, and separate living room, plus all other Palace extras; views can be limited in this option.
Junior Suite
The 405sq ft Junior Suite with king-size bed features an open-plan sleeping and lounging space with city views and historic features that add a certain dose of character.
Deluxe Suite
Your own mini apartment in the heart of San Francisco, the Deluxe Suite starts at 600sq ft and has an open-plan living room with sofa bed (in addition to the main king-size, if needed), plus city views and all other Palace extras.
Palace Suite
Ranging between 880 and 900sq ft, the Palace Suite is a chic residence with a large, beautifully furnished living room, a bedroom with king-size bed and bathroom with oversized shower and large bathtub, plus premier views of Market Street below.
Specialty Suite
Luxuriate in the glorious surroundings of this stately suite. The large, separate living room with dining area combines historic features such as high ceilings and stuccoed walls with pops of contemporary colour, while corner windows provide views onto Market Street from different angles. The wood panelled bedroom features a king-size, canopied bed and the marble bathroom has both an oversized shower and deep-soak bathtub.
Presidential Suite
One of the ultimate stays in San Francisco, this corner suite features a separate living room with piano, wood-panelled dining room, bedroom with king-size four-poster bed and media room with a 48” television screen. There is a master bathroom with a spa bathtub and oversized shower, as well as a further guest bathroom.
Market Street View Room
These 330sq ft rooms afford bustling views of the street below, and also come with a king-size bed.
New Montgomery Room & Cityscape Room
Also benefitting from city views, these 330sq ft rooms include either a king-size bed or two double.Facilities/Amenities
Unusually for such a centrally located hotel, the Palace boast a luxe indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and gym, complete with glass ceiling and San Francisco views! It’s a stunning spot and real highlight of the property, though you’ll also find a host of boutiques onsite, concierge and dry-cleaning services too.

The Garden Court Restaurant & Lounge
The Palace Hotel’s Garden Court Restaurant and Lounge is surely one of the most impressive-looking restaurants in San Francisco, situated as it is within the property’s grand, pillared atrium under an iconic glass dome. The décor is splendid, though so too is the food, an upmarket take on typically San Franciscan cuisine, seafood and occasional influences from the south. For something a little lighter, head here for an afternoon tea of sandwiches and homemade canapes.

Pied Piper
This moody, wood-clad restaurant and bar is the perfect cosy hideaway in the evening, serving pub-style bites such as gourmet burgers alongside an impressive wine, cocktail and whiskey menu. The interior of Pied Piper feel historic and ornate, but the atmosphere within is far more laidback.
