Hotel information
Fairmont Vancouver always gives you a royal welcome as you step foot into the lobby. This grand railway hotel is nestled in Vancouver’s financial district, making it the perfect location for a city break on the Canadian Pacific coast.
The hotel oozes classic glamour combined with comforting modern aesthetics. Its château style exterior is a staple of Canadian architecture, so, it’s beautiful bright stonework exterior with green copper roofing might be familiar to you!
The Fairmont Vancouver underwent a four-year $75 million renovation between 2015 and 2019. The redesign was inspired by the hotel’s royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939 - the royal family travelled along the Canadian Pacific Railway and considered Vancouver the crowning gem of their trip. The hotel’s bar and restaurant show off photography and interior design that pay homage to this prestigious visit.
Ideally located just nine miles from the airport, the hotel is also a short drive from the cruise ship dock and the Rocky Mountaineer station, making it the perfect place to stay before heading out on an Alaskan cruise or a journey into the mountains.
If you’d rather explore for a little longer, you’ll easily be able to access some of the city's major landmarks and attractions from the hotel: Christ Church Cathedral is one of the oldest churches in Canada and sits right next door, Vancouver Art Gallery is located directly opposite and the Pacific Centre, an incredible underground shopping mall, is a short stroll away. It’s also only a 10-30 minute walk to Canada Place, Gastown, Granville Island and Stanley Park, so you’ll be in a prime downtown city location.
The interior of the hotel is incredible too, and perfect for a luxury getaway with comfort in mind. Each of the rooms follows the hotel's grand, classic décor whilst maintaining the modern amenities that you’d expect of 5-star accommodation. For something extra special, you may want to stay at Fairmont Gold. A ‘hotel within a hotel’ located on the ninth and fourteenth floors, you’ll have access to a private lounge, dedicated concierge and additional amenities such as complimentary breakfast, evening hors d’oeuvres, afternoon scones and pastries, honour bar and complimentary non-alcoholic drinks.
