You can laze on the deck of the main lodge and take in the spectacular surroundings, you may even be lucky enough to see grizzly bears wandering across the expansive lawns. Inside the main lodge you can sit by the river rock fireplace in the large lounge and dining room or play billiards and table games in the sports bar.
The lodge is one of the easiest to access from Vancouver, with no long boat or float-plane transfers required. On arrival at Bella Coola Airport, you take a 45 minute transfer to the lodge and you can be floating down the Atnarko River watching bears within 3 hours of leaving Vancouver. Bear viewing takes place right at the lodge, wander a few minutes to one of the two bear viewing stations where there are no time limit's.
Tweedsmuir Park Lodge prides itself on its wildlife experiences, the highly experienced and knowledgeable guides take you on Grizzly Bear walking tours and track bears through the forest. Drift down the Atnarko River on motor-less boats and watch grizzly bears catch salmon, guests often see 15 - 20 different grizzly bears on a single float trip. Take in the spectacular scenery on a cruise along the fjord and set prawn and crab traps while looking out for orcas and dolphins.
