Hotel information
Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort is an intimate family-owned and operated resort that sits in a remote location on the west coast of British Columbia and is only accessible by air or water.
The resort was built with the environment in mind, making the most of the natural surroundings and with electric being powered by a Pelton wheel within one of the nearby waterfalls nine months of the year. The resort offers nine private chalets sitting on stilts on the tidal water's edge or by the stream. Each of the solid wood cabins features a living room area, two bedrooms, an outdoor seating area and complimentary house-made cookies, Mission Hill red & white wine and complimentary mini-bar of juices and beers.
Nimmo Bay Resort is set in the Great Bear Rain-forest and is for those seeking a wilderness escape, away from the normal day to day schedule, and somewhere that they can reconnect with the great outdoors. Wilderness and wildlife adventures around the resort include kayaking and exploring coastal islands, paddle boarding along the serene shores, bear and whale watching and marine life tours. Guided hikes, gourmet picnic lunches and boat tours through the Broughton Archipelago are just some of the other activities on offer at the resort.
Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort are renowned for their heli-adventures, these optional tours include Heli-Fishing where you are flown to isolated river locations for a day of fly-fishing, or join a guided Heli-Hike where you are taken by helicopter to hike on alpine glaciers, to waterfalls or west coast beaches. During the months of May-August, you may wish to take a Heli-Rafting tour where you float down river through this unique wilderness over white rapids.
Mealtimes at Nimmo Bay Resort are also a big part of the experience with freshly baked pastries, home-made granola and fresh fruits served in the family-style dining room each morning. The setting for gourmet picnic lunches change daily, making the most of the spectacular settings around the resort, you may feast atop a glacier, enjoy the silence and tranquillity dining lakeside or on a white sand beach. Gourmet dinners are served on the floating fire-deck or in the dining room and are accompanied with an extensive selection of local wines, beers or your favourite cocktail.
This unique wilderness resort is perfect for couples seeking a remote hideaway, or for a special celebration, Nimmo Bay Resort is also popular for fly fishing and for family groups.
The resort can be reached from Vancouver by air to Port Hardy and then floatplane to the resort or can be part of a self-drive itinerary that passes through Port Hardy on Vancouver Island.

Nimmo Bay Resort
This is the wilderness, activities cannot be pre planned as they are dependant on weather and the wildlife in the area at the time of your visit. While it is very likely you will see an abundance of wildlife this is never guaranteed.
