And in a move to eliminate plastic waste, Six Senses Zighy Bay has substituted a staggering 788,935 plastic bottles with glass ones, drastically reducing their environmental footprint.
The resort’s dedication to supporting local communities is expressed through sourcing most the restaurants’ food from nearby suppliers, enhancing the dining experience, while promoting local sustainability. Organic food is also cultivated onsite, ensuring the freshest and most sustainable ingredients make their way to guests’ dining tables.
A true oasis in the desert, the resort employs a greywater recycling system that efficiently irrigates the surrounding trees. Over 3.7 million gallons of water are recycled annually, mitigating environmental strain in Oman’s arid landscape.
Finally, the resort extends its hand to the local community, supporting the Dibba hospital by constructing a new radiology unit and providing essential medical supplies and costly equipment, such as hearing aids to villagers.
