Hotel information
For a ski holiday unlike any other, discover this luxurious ranch experience set in 3,500 acres of private, pristine Utah land.
A hillside resort designed in a contemporary fashion using limestone and glass over split levels, The Lodge at Blue Sky creates a sense of retreat, where modern dècor offers a cosy space from which to view the surrounding wilderness through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Despite its peaceful and remote feel, Blue Sky is just 40 minutes transfer from the international airport at Salt Lake City. And just 25 minutes from the base of the Park City Mountain Resort where the hotel has its own private ski lounge.
The focus is on experiencing the region, so everything is curated to immerse you in the natural environment; from the horseback riding and onsite whiskey distillery, to the nightly “S’mores School” and home grown vegetables on the menus. Even the spa is guided by this mission, with its position on a precipice designed to make you feel within nature, and treatments using foraged herbs from the surrounding forests.
Similarly the children’s club centres on teaching young visitors about the North American wilds by learning through interactive play, such as caring for the horses who call Blue Sky home, or making lunch with ingredients from the resort’s farm.
Accommodation boasts light-filled spaces where private, fire-lit terraces beckon you outside to watch the elk herds as they wander past. Spacious duplex suites have two en suite bedrooms ideal for families, while open-concept one-bedroom suites beside the creek are for adult guests only.
Signature restaurant Yuta is a real destination dining experience, named after the Ute Indian name for “people who live high in the mountains” and featuring a menu that seeks to define the region’s storied past.
The Lodge at Blue Sky, an Auberge Resorts Collection, is a unique ski hotel for those seeking an authentic, luxury stay in the beautiful wilds of North America.
Room Options
There are 46 accommodations at The Lodge, giving the feel of a boutique hotel yet with the facilities and space of a much larger resort. Rooms are split into three categories: Earth Suites within the Earth House on the hillside that have connecting options for families; Sky Lodge Suites are set in the main building with one and two-bedroom spaces available; and The Creek Houses which are a three minute walk from the main lodge and for adults only.

Restaurants & Bars
As with every detail at The Lodge at Blue Sky, dining is heavily influenced by the surrounding environment, with ingredients sourced from the resort’s own farm, fish from the river, honey from the bees and inspiration from the many cultures who have passed through this region over the centuries.
Yuta
The resort’s signature restaurant is named from the area’s Ute Indian title for “mountain top”. With a long Native American history, followed by travellers from Eastern Europe and China, Yuta cuisine draws on its past, creating dishes that feel true to Utah’s heritage and celebrate its local, seasonal and organic ingredients.
Serving three meals a day, as well as brunch, there are eggs from the resort’s farm for breakfast, and radicchio from Gracie’s Farm served with smoked duck for dinner. The kids’ menu has both indulgent favourites and healthier choices, and there is a terrace for outdoor dining with valley views.
The Yurt
Overlooking the valley on a high peak is the resort’s two mountaintop yurts which can be booked for a cosy, private space for a private meal, a whiskey or wine tasting, or how about a delicious fondue lunch?
The Bar
Take a seat beside the fire in the lounge, or wrap up and head outside onto the terrace for a drink with a view. Wherever you are in The Bar, you’ll be spoilt to an extensive drinks menu of craft Utah beers, High West Whiskey cocktails with herbs from the resort farm, and a menu of tasty bar snacks.
The Wine Room
Within the Sky Lodge and home to the Blue Sky’s wine collection, this intimate dining venue has views of the mountains and its own terrace; perfect for wine tasting or a romantic dining experience for two.
The Refectory
The resort boasts its own whiskey made at the High West Distillery, and it’s here you’ll discover The Refectory. Brunch on a Sunday is popular, or you can pop in for lunch with a craft cocktail or Utah craft beer.
Activities & Entertainment
Ski & Winter Activities
The Lodge at Blue Sky is a really unique spot to enjoy the magical slopes of Park City, but away from the hustle and bustle of the main resort.
Boasting its own Blue Sky Private Ski Lounge, you’ll be treated to complimentary shuttles to this exclusive slope-side location at the base of the Silver Star Lift. Ski Butlers are in charge of your rental gear, which will be sorted for you back at The Lodge and ready for you each morning in the Ski Lounge. For après-ski there is a self-service bar, with light bites and vintage ski films to watch.
This region is renowned for its excellent snow conditions and thanks to the 2002 Winter Olympics the facilities for skiers are world-class. But there are other winter activities to enjoy too, like: dog sledding, Nordic skiing, Heli-skiing, snow shoeing and sledding.
Spa & Wellness
The dreamy EDGE Spa at the resort is centred around a heated outdoor spa pool that overlooks the creek. Here the menu of treatments is inspired by the locality – with herbs from the forests and farm used in the natural “bloom-to-bottle” products.
There’s a fitness centre too, alongside a movement studio that offers complimentary group classes each morning. Outdoor yoga, guided meditation and the aerial yoga in the forest are all popular with guests.
Family Activities
Children are warmly welcomed to The Lodge at Blue Sky with their own Little Vaquero's Kids Club featuring daily themed activities. These themes focus on the region, teaching children about the nature and environment that surround the resort.
Skiing at Park City is great for families too thanks to the range of slopes and ski schools. And a favourite activity at the resort itself is visiting the horses at Blue Sky’s not-for-profit horse rescue.
Equine Activities
Truly immerse yourself in this mountainside ranch with the many equine adventures available onsite. These include horse drawn sleigh rides, trail rides, learning the art of being a cowboy and horsemanship.
The unique style of caring for the horses at the ranch focuses on working with each horse individually based on its personality; something you can discuss with the grooms during the free “Meet The Horses Hour”.
