Hotel information
A unique experience awaits you in the frozen wilderness of Finnish Lapland at this incredible fell-side resort.
Designed using as much glass as possible, this very special hotel sees you staying in your own private “igloo” where you can get cosy and enjoy epic views. By day that means a landscape of white, where the rugged fells melt into the horizon. By night that means an unobstructed view of the skies, with a greater chance of spotting the northern lights.
This small, family-owned glass igloo resort prides itself on personal, heartfelt service. Set at 340 metres high on the side of a fell, Levin Iglut is just 10km from the popular ski resort of Levi and one of Lapland’s best destinations for travellers.
The glass igloos are your own private enclave, with a bathroom and kitchenette, and some have an outdoor Jacuzzi. For additional space and amenities, including a private sauna, there is the Northern Lights House. Whichever you pick, breakfast is served buffet-style in Utsu, the resort’s restaurant with its roaring log fire and glass roof.
Most guests visit during the colder, darker months when the chance of seeing the northern lights is higher. The temperatures make consistent snowfall guaranteed in winter, so daytime activities can include husky sledding and reindeer safaris through the frozen forests.
Whether teamed with a ski holiday to the fells of Levi, or as a standalone once in a lifetime experience, a visit to Levin Iglut is certain to live long in your memory.
Room Options
Stay in either one of the 27 private glass igloos, or for additional space there is a standalone holiday home. Both options enjoy unrivalled views of the Arctic landscape, cosy features and many have a private terrace with your own hot tub. A buffet breakfast is served each morning in the resort’s restaurant.

Restaurants & Bars
With a signature restaurant specialising in locally-sourced ingredients, and the option to cosy up in a traditional Sami hut for a private meal, there’s reason to brave the cold and venture out from your glass igloo for a dining experience at Levin Iglut.
Restaurant Utsu
Enjoy the spectacular views from the resort’s glass-roofed tower restaurant, Utsu. Designed to fully immerse you in the area, both in its surrounds and its menu, the restaurant moves with the seasons for an authentic taste of Finnish Lapland.
Centred around a cosy open fire, the domed glass creates exceptional panoramic views. Breakfast is served daily, with a buffet of freshly baked breads, muesli and more. Lunch and dinner use ingredients foraged from the forest, with fish from Norwegian fjords.

Activities & Entertainment
Winter Activities
During the short daylight hours of winter the hotel arranges wintry activities including reindeer farm visits and safaris, snowshoe hikes and kicksled safaris.
With Lapland’s favourite ski resort of Levi just 10km away, skiing and snowboarding on guaranteed fresh powder are within easy reach. Hiking, horse riding and cycling are possibilities in winter with the correct equipment. And of course many families visit Lapland in the run-up to Christmas for the opportunity to meet Santa Claus.
Northern Lights
The great likelihood is that if you’re making a trip to Levin Iglut, you’re doing so in the hope of seeing the northern lights. This colourful, natural light phenomenon is more common in polar regions, and given its height from its position on the fells, and its glass-constructed design, aurora borealis sightings from the resort are common between September and April.
In this area they can occur as regularly as every other night, but only when it is dark and clear.
