Elevate your Courchevel 1850 ski holiday with a stay at this exceptional Aman hotel.
Set in what is considered the most fashionable ski village in the French Alps, this boutique-size hotel has just 31 stylish suites, but the facilities of a much larger ski and spa resort.
The design is what you’d expect from Aman; a four-storey, slate roofed building which blends seamlessly into its surrounds, yet inside reveals chic, open-plan spaces with elegant oak panelling, neutral colours and roaring log fires. Views of the pine forests, pistes and mountains are showcased through large windows, with 24 of the suites having balconies.
Aman Le Mélézin’s USP is its ski-in-ski-out access to the Bellecôte ski slope, as well as to the world’s largest ski area, Les Trois Vallées. Ski butlers and a dedicated ski concierge will see to all your winter sport needs, from having your boots waiting (and warmed) ready for you each morning, to booking ski lessons for children. In fact, provision for families is excellent, with an in-house kids’ club and family rooms.
Après-ski can be enjoyed in the library or bar beside open fires. Then there is the hotel’s signature restaurant Nama for Japanese gastronomy and a Matcha tea ceremony.
The spa is a destination in itself, with all the hallmarks of Aman providing a place of warmth and wellbeing in contrast to the winter activities outside. A large heated swimming pool, yoga studio, Turkish hammam and sauna are set over two floors of the hotel and complemented by a large menu of Aman treatments and therapies.

Breakfast (and either lunch or dinner) is included with your stay, and half board rates include access to six carefully chosen local restaurants and eateries, like the open-air La Folie Douce in Méribel.
Nama
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this 40-cover restaurant is a celebration of Japanese gastronomy under the watchful direction of master chef Keiji Matoba. Using the best local ingredients (where possible) the menu includes Wagyu beef, sushi and sashimi.

The Bar, Library & Salon
With Courchevel’s largest sake and Japanese whiskey collection, you can enjoy high-end drinks and cocktails in a convivial space with mountain views and roaring log fires. Afternoon tea and light refreshments are served, and there is an outdoor terrace with wood burners and blankets. The library features a selection of books in French and English.
The Fumoir
This small and cosy smoking room has a capacity of just four, where you can try a selection of hand-rolled Aman cigars from the Dominican Republic.
Activities & Entertainment
Skiing
Undoubtedly it’s the skiing which draws most guests to this luxurious hotel, positioned as it is with ski-in-ski-out access to France’s popular Savoy region.
There is skiing straight from the hotel to Les Trois Vallées, with its excellent conditions and 600km of pistes. Considered one of the world’s best ski resorts, there are more than a dozen cross-country routes, many originally created for the 1992 French Winter Olympics.
Other attractions include snow parks, snow rafting and ice carting. The Parc National de la Vanoise, on the eastern border of Les Trois Vallées offers excellent off-piste skiing.
Aman Le Mélézin offers equipment for hire and purchase, and ski butlers attend to your every need, laying out equipment as required each morning, warming your boots on the heated boot racks, and helping with any necessary maintenance.
Private instructors, mountain guides, ski passes and transportation can all be arranged by the ski concierge.
Spa & Wellness
The Aman Spa at this luxury hotel is the perfect place to warm up and wind down after a day on the slopes, or start each day well with the free morning yoga classes.
Here there is a large 14m swimming pool; five treatment rooms, including a Thai massage room; twin Jacuzzis; a traditional sauna; a Turkish hammam with a vaulted ceiling; and a fitness area with its own yoga room.
The Aman Spa’s menu of relaxing treatments includes facials, mani and pedicures, and massages.
Families
Childcare at the kids’ club is available from 9am until 10pm daily. Here daily activities are organised, including cooking demonstrations and arts and crafts, alongside play equipment, puzzles and games. A dedicated children’s television room shows movies and cartoons and is a great place to chill after a lesson on the slopes.
Village des Enfants at Courchevel is four hectares of some of the world’s best children’s ski provision, with dedicated slopes and expert instructors.
