The Austrian ski resort, Zürs, otherwise known as the ‘diamond in the snow’ is an exclusive ski area nestled in the Alberg ski region. Ski to your heart’s content with over 300km of slopes at your disposal. At an altitude of 1700m, Zürs is known for its great snow records that make for an excellent ski holiday. Not to mention, at such an impressive height, you’ll be in the ideal location for dramatic scenery of snow-covered mountains.
Skiing in Zürs is perfect for all ski and snowboard levels. Whether you’re a beginner skier or advanced, you’re welcome to try your hand at their impressive number of runs. Close to the main hotels are the ski regions for novice skiers, perfect for effortless access to the slopes. If you like a challenge, be sure to take the slopes that run between Zürs and Lech, which is the next neighbouring ski resort. Lech and Zürs are both prided on their excellent snow. If you want to explore more of Austria’s ski resorts, purchase the Ski Alberg Pass. With this in your pocket, you can access all 97 ski lifts that take you to the rest of the Alberg ski area including Oberlach, St. Christoph and more.
Well-known amongst the rich and famous, Zürs is popular not just for its deep powder snow, but also for its après ski. Within Zürs’ exclusive village, you’ll find exceptional bars, clubs, and champagne bars to kick back and relax in after long days on the slopes. Head to the Skiclub Alpenrose for some late-night clubbing and dancing if you want to let off some steam of a night. To refuel, be sure to browse their excellent selection of gourmet restaurants, mostly offering signature Austrian dishes.
If you’re a non-skier/snowboarder looking to enjoy the winter season amongst the Austrian charm, there are numerous exciting activities around the resort. Be sure to embark on a horse-drawn sleigh ride to gaze on some of the region’s most beautiful views of the snow-covered mountains, alpine villages and more. If you have travelled with loved ones, take a family stroll on a guided sunset walk to watch the resident deer being fed. A natural ice rink is also open every day for you to enjoy a skate with loved ones.
