Full accommodation information

This beautiful beachfront resort is a former coconut plantation on the southern coastline of Sri Lanka, surrounded by a scenic landscape of flora and swaying king coconut trees.

Shangri-La Hambantota provides a quiet retreat for travellers wishing to experience the incredible beauty and warmth of Sri Lanka.

With three salt-water swimming pools, guests will have plenty of space to roam and relax. The resort also offers four restaurants and bars, from an international buffet at Bojunhala to flavourful cuisines of Southeast Asia at Restaurant Sera. We recommend you head to Gimanhala at sunset to enjoy a cocktail by candlelight.

The resort boasts 274 rooms ranging from guestrooms with garden views (where peacocks can be seen roaming!), to suites offering ultimate privacy alongside butler service. Furnished with polished wooden floors and handwoven rugs, the modern luxury interior effortlessly complements the island’s surroundings.

The resort also features the country’s first in-resort 18-hole golf course designed by Rodney Wright, featuring stunning infinity ocean views. Golf is just one of the many outdoor experiences available here, with further pursuits including mountain biking, beach volleyball and nature trails perfect for a morning jog.

For a more relaxing pastime, head to the CHI, The Spa. This is a must-visit, offering Ayurvedic treatments which use only organic herbs and natural products, tailored to your needs after a personal consultation.

Families with younger guests are warmly welcomed and kids are sure to love The Cool Zone Kids Club, the largest kids club in the country. Kids will be amazed at activities such as a flying trapeze, a drone flying experience and a water park…to name a few!
