Hotel information
Set in the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country, where mountain roads wind up and down the undulating terrain, these bungalows were once planters’ residences and now offer exceptional accommodation in a location near the hill town of Hatton, some 1,300 metres above sea level.
Elegantly styled, these classic bungalows feature three or four bedrooms and will transport you to another era, and yet all are fitted out with every modern convenience, from Wifi to decadent en suite bathrooms.
Children are welcome at Mandira Bungalows, and cots or extra beds can be added to spacious rooms. Age-appropriate activities and games can also be organised for little ones.
Breakfast is served outside so that you can enjoy a specially prepared morning meal as you watch the mist rise off the verdant mountains in the sunshine. Lunch can be enjoyed in your room or in a scenic outdoor location. Each bungalow features a classic dining room where guests can feast on the delicacies the property’s excellent chefs have prepared.
During the day, of course, you will want to make the most of your location, whether that be by hiking, cycling along mountain paths, taking the train through the hills, or touring a local tea plantation and perhaps even plucking a few leaves yourself.
