Full accommodation information

The castle itself has hosted the likes of Queen Victoria to Ronald Reagan over its 600-year history, and you can even book her favoured bedroom during your stay here!

That kind of heritage and authenticity makes every moment here even more special, though the 21st-century incarnation of Luttrellstown Castle is every bit the five-star golf resort, giving guests the best of all worlds from start to finish.

Indeed, this was the chosen venue for Victoria and David Beckham’s 1999 wedding, no less.

There are just 20 guestrooms at Luttrellstown Castle Resort, each an original part of the structure – though thoroughly renovated – and coming with its own backstory of former royal guests, fun original features or simply great views across the estate. The décor scheme is as regal as you’d hope for and expect, all antique furnishings, chandeliers, subtle artworks on the walls and those towering tall ceilings which are not only ornate and beautiful to look at, but allow for huge light-giving windows too.

Without a doubt, the main draw of Luttrellstown Castle Resort is the building itself, which dates back to the 15th century (the castle towers were built in 1429) and sits within 567 acres of beautiful grounds, gardens, and patches of forest that contain over 300 plant and tree species.

There is also an 18-hole championship golf course within Luttrellstown Castle’s boundary walls, plus plenty of fun-filled outdoor activities such as archery, falconry, air rifle target shooting, horse riding trails, cycling, history tours and woodland walks.

And whilst there is no spa or gym at Luttrellstown Castle Resort, your experience is all the better for it and feels far more authentic, though fine dining can be enjoyed at the golf clubhouse’s La Mora restaurant, and the lounge areas here are as grand as they come.

Within its 567-acre grounds, Luttrellstown Castle comes with its own 18-hole championship golf course, as well as a huge lake and gardens too. The rest of the property revolves around the magnificent ancient building itself, and all you need for the array of outdoor activities on offer here, as well as a billiards room and essentials such as Wi-Fi, babysitting concierge services.

La Mora

La Mora

This clubhouse restaurant is a suitably upmarket affair and particularly well-known for their delicious Sunday lunch. Afternoon tea is also popular at the hotel and can be enjoyed in one of the drawing rooms, while private dining options are also available throughout the day.

Being only 30 minutes from Dublin, you are well placed to enjoy day trips to the city and visit attractions such as the Guinness Factory, Phoenix Park, The National Gallery of Ireland and St Patrick’s Cathedral during your stay at Luttrellstown Castle. Meanwhile back at the resort itself there is archery, horse riding, biking trails and falconry to get your teeth in to, plus history tours and woodland walks for something a little more relaxing. Then, one of the main highlights of Luttrellstown Castle is their private 18-hole championship golf course, set around the property’s sprawling grounds.
