Full accommodation information

Previous guests include Winston Churchill, while it’s also said that the Queen and Princess Margaret learned to dance in the ballroom here.

With this heritage and prestige, it’s no wonder why the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is regarded as one of the best luxury hotels in England.

Original Edwardian redbrick on the building’s exterior is swapped for glossy marble within, where welcoming staff offer a polished check-in service and escort you to your room. All the 181 accommodations at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park are immaculately designed and appointed, sporting light-filled interiors and views of the courtyard, Knightsbridge or Hyde Park. You can choose from a room, suite or penthouse, the latter flaunting butler service as well as alfresco terraces and skyline views.

However, what makes the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park all the more special is its unbeatable dining scene. The hotel is home to the highly acclaimed, two Michelin-star restaurants, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, as well as Bar Boulud from Michelin-star chef, Daniel Boulud. That’s not all though, as there’s also the chic Mandarin Bar for evening cocktails and The Rosebery, the latter serving both a delectable breakfast each morning and high tea in the afternoon.

More pampering is easily achieved at The Spa, which boasts not only an amethyst crystal steam room, zen colour therapy relaxation space and vitality pool, but also a 17m indoor lap pool, should you wish to work off all that food! Although, with so many designer shops surrounding the hotel, simply indulging in some retail therapy should do the trick.

One of the best features of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel is its collection of rooms, suites and penthouses, of which there are 181 in total. Each is a love letter to chic British style, incorporating classic and modern design elements to create a sophisticated space in which to unwind. Expect everything from onyx and crystal chandeliers to bespoke artwork, marble bathrooms to immaculate windows that peer out over the courtyard, Knightsbridge or Hyde Park itself.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal

Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the UK, awarded with two Michelin stars, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is a lauded gastronomical experience that explores historic dining from across the British Isles over the past centuries. Celebrated chef Heston Blumenthal dazzles diners with dishes that delve into the UK’s culinary past, infusing a contemporary spin on traditional recipes and techniques. For example, you could begin with a starter of Rice & Flesh (c.1390) – saffron, calf tail and red wine; follow up with a main course of Roast Halibut & Green Sauce (c.1440) – braised chicory, parsley, pepper, onion and eucalyptus; then finish with Chocolate Drops (c.1790) – malt cake, lemon thyme, barley cream, chocolate and ale ice cream. All of this, served against a backdrop that fuses modern and traditional British design elements.

Another Michelin-starred chef whips up fine dining at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park – Daniel Boulud, who brings lip-smacking French cuisine to his only London restaurant, Bar Boulud. The style is French bistro and wine bar, spread across two rooms with an open kitchen and zinc bar; there’s even a charcuterie counter. You might want to order tartare de boeuf to start, followed by a tagliatelle aux fruits de mer, or perhaps a 12oz pan-seared striploin with grilled oyster mushrooms; among many other tantalising options.
