Hotel information
Sir Richard Branson’s 1,000-acre estate on Mallorca’s northwest coast is welcoming a brand-new, retreat, opening for summer 2023. Set within the spectacular Tramuntana Mountains with stunning Mediterranean Sea views, Son Bunyola Hotel will be the latest addition to the prestigious Virgin Limited Edition collection.
Central to the estate is the 15th century finca (a traditional farming manor). It is now being lovingly transformed into a small and personal luxury hotel and will join three existing standalone villas, Sa Terra Rotja, Sa Punta de S’Aguila and Son Balagueret, to form Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas.
Honouring the historic building, the new hotel will fuse many original features with contemporary and sustainable additions. With just 26 rooms and suites, it’s set to be one of the most exclusive and boutique options on the island. The best of the rooms will be the Tower Suites, one of which is housed in a 15th-century fortification framing the vineyard and mountains beyond. The former olive press will become one of two restaurants, while the historic terrace houses the heated infinity pool and Jacuzzi.
Indulge in a relaxing treatment at the Spa, or in the comfort of your bedroom or on the terrace. Play a spot of tennis at the courts shared with the three existing villas, where a private coach is on hand to perfect your serving skills. At the pebble beach, paddle boards and kayaks are set up each day to get out on water, weather permitting.
When you’re not relaxing in this seriously peaceful location, there are plenty of activities amongst the 1,000 acres where citrus, almond and olive trees bloom. Set within a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site, Son Bunyola estate is blessed with a very special location, miles of stunning walks and some of the best cycling in the world. There are also over 20 golf courses on the island to practise your swing. The traditional Mallorcan villages of Banyalbufar and Esporles are only a few kilometres away from Son Bunyola, providing a variety of restaurants, tapas bars and other local things to see and do.
The brand-new Son Bunyola Hotel will start welcoming guests from 16 June 2023.
