Hotel information
Nestled in Catalan forest in the foothills of the Pyrenees and just an hour from Barcelona, Camiral is the home of golf in Spain.
In fact, the two world-class golf courses at the resort are ranked among the best in Europe, with additional facilities including a PGA Academy and driving range.
The 138-bedroom 5* Camiral Hotel within the 500-acre resort is designed in a contemporary style. Renowned local architect and interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violan had the vision for the space, with high ceilings and plenty of glass that flood the rooms with natural light. Indoor plants and artwork inspired by Spain’s famous artists decorate the modern communal areas. And much of the furniture, soft furnishings and ornaments are made in Spain.
The resort’s location is ideal for exploring. Within an hour you can be wandering the streets of lively Barcelona; or just half an hour’s drive and you can be on the beaches of the Costa Brava. The in-resort Cycling Hub means you can even bike to the nearby city of Girona.
As well as golf, Camiral has pitched itself as one of the region’s best places for a spa holiday, and the new wellness centre boasts state-of-the-art technology and treatments that range from pedicures to whole-body cryotherapy.
There is plenty to keep active too, including tennis courts, a Forest Park, nature tours and a kids’ club. Or you can just chill by the large infinity-edge swimming pool then take a wander in the immaculately kept gardens.
The five restaurants ensure Camiral serves a variety of dining options, from rustic Italian pizzas to refined Catalan cuisine in settings ranging from poolside to clubhouse.
Gourmet escape, golfing break, family holiday or wellness retreat; the Camiral resort in north-east Spain is a stylish choice.

Restaurants & Bars
1477 Restaurant
The resort’s signature restaurant is refined but not overly formal, putting ingredients from local producers at the heart of a menu that celebrates European cuisine with a Catalan twist, all served with wines from the well-stocked cellar.
And the reason behind the name? In the year 1477 the first cookbook was written in the Catalan language by a chef to the King of Naples.

The Club Café
This bistro at the resort’s clubhouse offers informal dining that can be enjoyed outside on a sunny terrace overlooking the Stadium course. But it’s not just golfers who enjoy it here thanks to favourites on the menu of classic dishes, like spaghetti and club sandwiches, a children’s menu, and a breakfast menu if you have an early tee time.

The food menu includes light bites like sandwiches, as well as bar snacks such as olives and breads. There’s a small children’s menu too. Exclusive cocktails are prepared by the master bartender using spirits from around the world.

Activities & Entertainment
Golf
The two 18-hole championship golf courses at Camiral Golf & Wellness are ranked among the best in Europe, and voted number one in Spain. In fact, the resort – previously PGA Catalunya – has hosted the Spanish Open on three occasions.
The Stadium course is the more challenging and imposing of the two, while the Tour course is kinder. At the state-of-the-art Golf Hub, one of the largest practice areas in Europe, there is swing analysis and ball tracking, alongside the support of professionals at the PGA Academy. The latter has golf lessons for all, including children and beginners.
If you’re a golf aficionado then this is just the start... there are expert caddie masters, the latest 'TaylorMade' rental clubs, two putting greens, and the clubhouse’s Club Café and ProShop.
Wellness
The exceptional new wellness centre at the resort is enough to draw you for a Spanish spa holiday. Here, the holistic approach to wellness means there are treatments to suit everyone, but all designed to have long-lasting benefits. The centre itself has been built within the Catalan forest, the large windows allowing natural light to flood in.
There is a traditional menu of spa and beauty treatments, using products from Aromatherapy Associates and Biologique Reserche; more focused rituals, including osteopathy, mindfulness and reflexology; and a selection of technology-led treatments from Icoone® and Bioline.
For a health-focused break there are programmes to support wellbeing in a more sustainable way, like Detox, Age Well and Immunity, alongside technology-led treatments that include: cryotherapy, oxygen chamber therapy and IV Infusion.
Family Activities
Camiral is a family-friendly resort with plenty to do for kids within its hundreds of acres of grounds. There is the golf academy, tennis, cycling and exploring the countryside. The resort also has its own kids’ club for two to 14-year-olds, and workshops to support creativity, based around things like craft and pottery.
Fitness
Aside from the golf, there is plenty to get you out in the fresh air around the resort, with bike tours, tennis, running groups, basketball and padel. Gentler fitness can be found with a yoga or Pilates class and there is a large gym at the Wellness Centre. The resort also boasts the Cycling Hub, where you can rent or store bikes, and there are carefully planned cycle routes available.
Nature Activities
The resort makes the most of its stunning countryside setting with curated tours and experiences to get you out into nature: like bird observation, the Remarkable Trees Trail, a Camiral Wildlife Discovery tour for kids, and an eco-diversity tour with the resident biologist. There is also the Forest Park, where zip lines and wooden bridges create a thrilling treetop adventure.
Food & Drink Experiences
For a gourmet getaway there is wine tasting which can include the resort’s own wine; picnics in the Catalan forests; and discovering more about the resort’s homemade honey.
Girona is a renowned gastronomy destination, with more than a dozen Michelin-star restaurants in this region of Spain, including three-star El Celler de Can Roca and two-star Bo.TiC; both around a 30-minute drive from Camiral.
Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
In 2020, Camiral received the IAGTO Sustainability Award for Nature Protection in “recognition of excellence in environmental and social responsibility” and it was the first European Tour destination to receive a GEO Certificate.
Making golf more sustainable and environmentally friendly is very important to the ethos at Camiral, and the resident biologist is a strong advocate for “how golf courses and resorts can, if approached correctly, provide a great diversity of habitats where an incredible number of species can thrive”.
But it’s not just the golf where Camiral has taken steps for sustainability. Energy consumption has also been reduced by 50% thanks to technology including solar panels and an on-site power station, cutting more than 362 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
