Full accommodation information

Down an unassuming side street, edged by softly swaying violet flowers, up in a quiet corner of Ravello – Villa Margherita, A Belmond Hotel, Amalfi Coast is an exclusive hideaway home in one of the Amalfi Coast’s most charming villages. It is just moments away from the much-adored sister hotel, Hotel Caruso, but is even more exclusive: there are only two decadent suites making up the residence here.

The villa is comprised of one suite on the lower floor, Miramare, and another on the upper floor, Belvedere. Each sleeps up to four guests comfortably, though the entire villa can be rented for larger groups (or if you simply want even more privacy). What makes these boutique Ravello suites so special is their design, dreamt up by Eric Egan who travelled the world to collect only the very best furnishings and fittings to style this exceptional Amalfi Coast home. Some of the more standout pieces include an 18th-century-style Venetian settee, painted by hand and upholstered in delicate Paolo Moschino fabric, a Hermes blanket placed on top of it. There are also ravishing artworks by Matisse and Jean Debuffet, vintage fabrics and elegant antiques aplenty, as well as trompe-l’oeil ceilings courtesy of L’Artigianato.

This stately design ensures you feel every bit the Italian noble during your sojourn in Ravello. When you’re ready to re-enter the world, you can walk a few steps to Hotel Caruso and relish fine dining at the Belvedere Restaurant, dips in the outdoor pool, restorative spa treatments and a tipple or two at the Arcade Bar, where live music is often played. Of course, there’s then the endless jewels of the Amalfi Coast to discover – boat trips, cultural excursions and culinary experiences, to name a few – all of which can be arranged by your personal butler, who will take care of every last detail throughout.

The very private grounds of Belmond Villa Margherita offer delightful gardens, though all the actual facilities are found at their sister property, Belmond Hotel Caruso, just a short walk away. Expect a swimming pool, gym, restaurant, two bars and a spa, all at your disposal.

Ravello and the Amalfi Coast is a glorious Italian setting for forays into sun-kissed villages and moments spent relaxing too. A boat ride is a must while here, either at first light, dusk or after dark, drinking in the splendid sight of the Amalfi coastline; you might want to opt for a spread of bubbles and antipasti, too. You can also enjoy wine tours in the Lattari Mountains, picnics with a view of the Sant’Eustachio ruins, visits to the lemon groves of the Valley of the Mills, or an interesting tour of the Belmond gardens led by a botanist. If you’re fond of music, you could also experience the Ravello Festival, with concerts and performances taking place from April to October.
