Hotel information
There can be few hotels more spectacularly located than this one. The Retreat Hotel sits proudly on the edge of the geothermal Blue Lagoon, in the heart of Iceland’s volcanic Reykjanes Peninsula. Aside from exploring the rugged, spectacular terrain, stays here are about wellness, reconnecting with the natural world and indulging in a spot of well-earned relaxation.
The hotel has access to a trio of private lagoons, each naturally heated and offering therapeutic properties. The design of the hotel itself is inspired by the surrounding peninsula; interiors are soothing and calm, a minimalist elegance complemented by staggering views of the peninsula through expansive windows.
The Retreat Spa will be an undoubted highlight of your stay. Treatments here make ample usage of the naturally restorative properties in the lagoon water. We particularly recommend one of the innovative in-water Relaxing Massages. Don’t miss out on trying the Blue Lagoon Ritual, a rejuvenating therapy that makes use of the rich silica, algae and minerals in the water here.
Dine at the superlative Moss Restaurant for a meal packed with fresh local ingredients and signature technique. Afterwards, head to the sky terrace on a clear night and try to spot the elusive northern lights illuminating the sky.
