Hotel information
A world-renowned haven of tranquillity and eco-conscious luxury, Rosewood Little Dix Bay has been providing a quintessentially Caribbean island experience to guests since it first opened its doors in 1964.
The ideal setting for everything from romantic getaways to multi-generational family gatherings, this iconic beachfront property is set to usher in a new age of luxury to the British Virgin Islands. Originally founded over half a century ago by Laurance Rockefeller, the resort has long been regarded as one of the world’s most sought after idyllic retreats but when Rosewood Little Dix Bay reopens its doors it will reveal a complete reimagining that incorporates a chic modern style and state-of-the-art amenities, whilst retaining all of the conservationist hallmarks of Rockefeller’s original vision.
Set within 500 acres of unspoilt gardens, surrounded by stunning blue seas and punctuated by dramatic hills, rare geological formations and luscious forest, Little Dix Bay celebrates Virgin Gorda’s untamed beauty and the incredible natural surrounds provide ample opportunity for outdoor activities including a choice of hiking trails and a multitude of watersports in the calm waters of the coral reef-protected bay, such as snorkelling and an outdoor yoga platform. Rosewood Little Dix Bay aims to immerse you in the beauty of its surroundings, so if it’s even greater seclusion you seek, the resort will take you by water-taxi to the beach of your choice where you can spend a day experiencing a true castaway escape.
True to its conservationist roots, the property features a minimal amount of man-made structures, with each utilizing indigenous materials and following the natural contours of the landscape so as to blend into the background as fully as possible. Nevermore than 20 feet from the beach, there are 77 delightful rooms and suites plus a two-bedroom villa and a three-bedroom villa dotted along the stunning coast, whilst the four-bedroom Villa Joy – complete with private pool and set on a hilltop overlooking the entire bay – makes up the full complement of accommodation. All of the elegant accommodation includes VIP butler service and takes cues from the island heritage of Rosewood Little Dix Bay, employing a 60’s-style modern design using wood, stone and heritage photos of the island to imbue a strong sense of identity and place.
Service
As soon as you arrive into the majestic, crescent-shaped bay the attention to detail and dedication from the Rosewood Little Dix Bay staff is evident. As you step onto the wooden dock you will be greeted by a team of butlers who will remain on hand for the duration of your stay. Incredible staff will cater to your every need and can show you to any one of the luxurious facilities in the resort including the award-winning “Sense” spa and fitness centre. “Sense” boasts eight treatment rooms cut directly into the cliffside and many of the spa’s treatments fuse the indigenous botanical resources with traditional therapeutic practices, ensuring that you return home relaxed and reinvigorated.
