Hotel information
The chilled out Guana Island is one of the few last remaining privately-owned islands in the British Virgin Islands offering fine dining, a distinctly social atmosphere and cosy accommodation.
Here you’ll discover 850 acres of natural beauty, including seven white sand beaches, tropical forest, mountains, hills and valleys. The emphasis is on low-key luxury – so you’ll find acres of privacy, friendly service and romantic touches. Everything is worked around relaxation – from the library where you can kick back with a good read to the jasmine-scented terraces to view the night sky.
For a truly romantic experience book yourselves onto a Castaway Picnic – where the Guana Island boatman will whisk you off for lunch and a private afternoon on a beach all of your own.
The resort has an in-house massage therapist who can provide massages in-room or in the secluded, open-air, beachfront spa cabana. Designed to be an escape from it all, guestrooms at Guana Island are intentionally absent from TVs, phones and computers.
Dining at the Guana Restaurant is a wonderful experience, led by Executive Chef Xavier Arnau with food inspired by techniques he learned during stints at El Bulli and Nobu.
Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
Guana Island focuses highly on land conservation. 99% of the island remains undeveloped and undisturbed, with the resort kept to a small corner of the island overlooking the sweeping Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean.
In their efforts to support the local BVI community and The Youth Empowerment Project, the island donates a portion of their revenue for their education and future opportunities. Visitors are invited to visit the facility to see this support in action.
