Hotel information
Sitting alone in the vast landscape of the Seaward Kaikoura Mountain Range are the eco-friendly, secure glass pods, Manakau and Kahutara PurePods. Carefully designed to boast panoramic views of the stunning surroundings and offering a real sense of being off-the-grid, this unique stay in New Zealand is perfect for those seeking a bit of outdoor adventure but not full-on camping.
The glass pods are located on secluded, private land. Surrounded by the striking beauty of New Zealand’s mountains, you can sit back and relax in the heart of nature whilst feeling completely safe and in total privacy. Your journey starts from the moment you park your car in the secluded parking bay; be sure to pack lightly, because you’ll be hiking for around 15-20 minutes through the scenic native bush to make it to your pod. Alternatively, you can opt for a breathtaking helicopter ride from Kaikoura with the option of whale watching from above. Either way, you’re treated to some of New Zealand’s most picturesque sites.
The pods are the perfect option to add to a busy itinerary or an adventurous honeymoon – spend a couple of nights here to stop, switch off and rejuvenate. Although you’ll feel immersed in a luxurious sense of isolation, the pods are located just 20 minutes from Kaikoura, perfect for venturing out in search of a restaurant, shopping or exploration of a scenic, coastal town. However, if you choose to stay put, your pod is equipped with everything you might need during your stay.
If you choose the self-catering option, you can make your favourite meals on the small hob and gas barbecue. Or, you can pre-book a breakfast and dinner package for ease. Sitting high on the mountainside, you can soak up the most spectacular views whilst dining on your meals.
Room Options
Both PurePods include everything you can think of to keep you comfortable and entertain during your stay. With full bathroom and kitchen facilities, as well as a cosy bed and fun games and telescope, being in a remote pod has never been more exciting.
